POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Project Management – Select & Midscale Europe supports the delivery of design and project management activities across Marriott International’s Select and Midscale portfolio throughout Europe. Reporting to the Senior Director, Select & Midscale Europe & North Africa, this role is responsible for managing renovation, conversion, and new development projects for franchised, managed, and company-owned or leased hotels.
The position ensures projects are delivered in line with brand standards, operational requirements, quality expectations, and approved budgets. Working closely with Owners, Development, Brand, Operations, and cross-functional stakeholders, the Senior Manager provides design oversight and project leadership from initial feasibility assessments through project completion, helping to drive successful growth across the region.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Design & Project Management
- Deliver franchised and managed projects on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with Marriott brand standards
- Manage renovation, conversion, and new development projects from concept through completion, ensuring quality assurance and operational acceptability
- Represent Marriott International’s interests with owners and developers, building strong relationships and supporting long-term portfolio growth
- Support Development teams with feasibility reviews of plans and drawings for potential projects
- Provide direction to design teams regarding brand standards, operational requirements, and project objectives
- Act as an innovative problem solver, balancing owner expectations, brand requirements, and operational needs
- Lead project kick-off meetings and communicate project scope, timelines, and requirements to stakeholders
- Collaborate with owners, consultants, and internal teams to prepare presentations for Continent Design Review approvals
- Review design documentation, construction drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with brand standards and project objectives
- Conduct model guestroom reviews and site inspections to validate design execution and quality standards
- Manage punch-list and turnover processes in partnership with Marriott’s Openings teams
- Assess existing properties for conversion opportunities and develop Property Improvement Plans (PIPs)
- Support renovation projects through design brief development, detailed reviews, and final project approvals
- Participate in value engineering initiatives to maintain project feasibility while protecting brand integrity and guest experience
Financial & Project Controls
- Partner with Global Design Accounting to manage projects within approved budgets
- Monitor multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality expectations
- Balance owner priorities, brand standards, guest expectations, and commercial considerations throughout project delivery
Stakeholder & Owner Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with owners, franchisees, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Foster collaboration across Development, Brand, Operations, and regional leadership teams
- Serve as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication and stakeholder alignment
- Support owner satisfaction through proactive engagement and effective issue resolution
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by leadership
- Comply with Marriott International policies, procedures, and governance requirements
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience, preferably within the hospitality industry
- Experience managing design, renovation, conversion, or development projects across multiple properties
- Experience working with hotel operators, ownership groups, or hospitality development organizations preferred
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related discipline required, or equivalent industry experience
- Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Project Management preferred
- Professional architecture, interior design, or project management accreditation preferred
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of hospitality design, development, and renovation processes
- Knowledge of industry innovation and emerging trends

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Location: Poland
- Travel: Approximately 50% business travel across Europe
- Language Requirements: High proficiency in English required. Fluency in Polish. Additional eastern European language skills fare advantageous.
