Your role at a glance
The Senior Manager, IT Transformation (m/f/d), leads the day-to-day execution of the IT Transformation agenda and manages a team responsible for enabling strategic, cross-functional transformation initiatives across NTT Global Data Centers. The role translates strategic priorities into executable roadmaps, governance structures, and coordinated delivery plans; creates decision-oriented transparency across initiatives; and ensures that risks, dependencies, and leadership decisions are surfaced early. Working closely with the Director, IT Transformation and senior business and IT stakeholders, the role combines people leadership, transformation management, programme oversight, stakeholder alignment, executive reporting, and hands-on problem solving. The role enables delivery while preserving clear accountability with the appropriate business and technology owners. The Senior Manager also takes on strategic and special assignments delegated by the Director, IT Transformation, providing focused leadership for priority topics that require additional structure, coordination, or management attention.

Key Responsibilities
Transformation Strategy & Execution
· Translate the IT Transformation strategy and leadership priorities into structured initiatives, roadmaps, milestones,deliverables, and measurable outcomes.
· Lead selected strategic and cross-functional transformation initiatives from definition through execution and stabilization.
· Establish clear scope, ownership, timelines, dependencies, resource requirements, risks, and success measures in collaboration with accountable stakeholders.
· Coordinate delivery across business functions, domains, regions, architecture, data, delivery teams, and external partners.
· Challenge plans constructively and intervene proactively when initiatives deviate from agreed outcomes, milestones, or governance expectations.
· Support the mobilization of new strategic initiatives and structure areas requiring focused transformation support
Transformation Portfolio Transparency & Executive Reporting
· Maintain an integrated view of the active IT Transformation agenda, including progress, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and expected outcomes.
· Consolidate inputs from initiative owners and delivery teams into concise, decision-oriented management updates.
· Prepare high-quality materials for IT leadership, governance bodies, and executive stakeholders.
· Ensure reporting distinguishes confirmed facts, assumptions, risks, and outstanding decisions and focuses on outcomes rather than activity alone.
· Define and monitor meaningful indicators for transformation progress and benefits realization.
· Escalate material issues early and provide clear options and recommendations for resolution.
Team Leadership & Capability Development
· Lead, develop, and motivate the IT Transformation team, creating clarity on priorities, responsibilities, expected outcomes, and ways of working.
· Translate the transformation agenda into team objectives and individual accountabilities and allocate capacity based on strategic importance, complexity, and risk.
· Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, feedback, performance management, and professional development to team members.
· Build a high-performing culture based on accountability, collaboration, constructive challenge, transparency, and continuous improvement.
· Ensure the team operates as a transformation partner and enabler without unnecessarily taking over accountability from business or technology delivery owners.
· Identify capability gaps and strengthen the methods, tools, and skills required to support the transformation agenda.
Programme & Initiative Governance
· Define and operate fit-for-purpose governance structures for assigned transformation initiatives.
· Establish clear decision rights, accountabilities, meeting cadences, escalation paths, and reporting requirements.
· Ensure governance supports timely decisions and delivery without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
· Monitor programme risks, issues, dependencies, actions, resources, financial considerations, and decision needs.
· Apply consistent programme and project management standards proportionate to the size, risk, and complexity of each initiative.
· Facilitate governance and working sessions and ensure that decisions, actions, owners, and target dates are documented and followed through.
Stakeholder & Change Leadership
· Build trusted relationships with senior business and IT stakeholders across a global, matrixed organization.
· Align stakeholders on transformation objectives, outcomes, responsibilities, dependencies, and delivery expectations.
· Facilitate complex discussions and help resolve conflicting priorities, ownership questions, and cross-functional obstacles.
· Communicate transformation priorities, progress, risks, and decisions clearly to audiences ranging from delivery teams to senior leadership.
· Build commitment to change by connecting transformation initiatives to business outcomes and organizational priorities.
· Partner with business and technology stakeholders where organizational adoption is critical.
Transformation Methods & Continuous Improvement
· Develop and continuously improve practical transformation management methods, templates, standards, and tools.
· Promote disciplined but proportionate ways of working across transformation initiatives.
· Capture lessons learned and apply them to improve governance, delivery, decision-making, and reporting.
· Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve transparency, and strengthen organizational execution capability.
· Promote effective use of data and digital tools in transformation planning, reporting, collaboration, and decision support.
Strategic & Special Assignments
· Take ownership of strategic and special assignments delegated by the Director, IT Transformation, with clear objectives, outcomes, governance, and escalation paths.
· Lead the ServiceNow implementation as a designated special assignment, coordinating the initiative through implementation, global rollout, stabilization, and transition into a globally operating capability.
· Structure ambiguous topics into clear problem statements, options, recommendations, ownership, and executable next steps.
· Conduct analysis and prepare recommendations for strategic IT decisions.
· Represent the Director, IT Transformation in agreed meetings, governance forums, or initiative discussions.
Knowledge & Attributes
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
· Advanced degree in a relevant discipline is advantageous.
· Significant experience in IT transformation, business transformation, technology strategy, programme management, management consulting, or a comparable field.
· Demonstrated line-management experience leading employees or a team, including setting objectives, allocating work, coaching, and managing performance.
· Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives within an international and matrixed organization.
· Experience managing programmes or initiatives through the full lifecycle, from initial structuring and planning through execution and stabilization.
· Demonstrated ability to create executive-level transparency from complex and sometimes incomplete information.
· Experience working with senior business and IT stakeholders and facilitating decisions across organizational boundaries.
· Strong practical experience in programme governance, dependency management, risk management, resource planning, and outcome tracking.
· Experience supporting technology-enabled organizational change and large-scale transformation initiatives.
· Consulting, transformation office, strategy execution, or enterprise programme management experience is advantageous.
· Relevant programme, project, change, agile, or transformation management certification is advantageous.
· Ability to translate strategic direction into pragmatic execution plans, governance, and measurable outcomes.
· Proven people leadership capability, including objective setting, capacity allocation, coaching, performance management, and talent development.
· Ability to structure ambiguity and convert complex topics into clear choices, recommendations, and actions.
· Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
· Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
