The Founder's Associate role is deliberately broader than most positions at this level. You will start in one area and quickly move across others, typically wherever the need is greatest. Some weeks you will be building pitch materials. Other weeks you may be running a demo call solo or making the business case for a new target market.
This is a role for someone who wants to understand how a B2B SaaS company is built from the inside and is willing to shape their own learning curve through initiative. Prior knowledge of our industry is not required; curiosity, judgment, and execution quality are.
What you will do
- Prepare materials and slide packs: business updates, strategy decks, customer presentations, board materials, and meeting follow-up. All need to be clear, concise, and compelling.
- Set up target markets: research new verticals and geographies, assess market entry opportunities, and build a structured approach to prioritisation.
- Challenge the product roadmap: gather feedback, consolidate insights, and help the team to prioritise requirements.
- Keep an eye on the finances: track burn, runway, and key SaaS metrics; keep the founders honest and flag anomalies before they become problems.
- Conduct demos: lead product demonstrations for prospects independently or in support of the sales team, adapting messaging on the fly.
- Support contracting: coordinate the contracting process end-to-end, from first negotiation to signature, working alongside sales.
- Take on ad-hoc projects: when new priorities emerge, you are the first port of call for research, synthesis, and execution.
What we are looking for
Must-have:
- 2+ years of experience in a demanding environment: management consulting, investment banking, venture capital, strategy, or a fast-growing startup.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English. English is the primary working language at vysr.
- Strong analytical skills: you are as comfortable building a financial model as you are structuring a compelling presentation.
- Responsible with AI. You know how to use it correctly and don’t blindly trust everything it does for you.
- Strong bias for action and ownership. You do not wait to be told what to do.
- Comfort with ambiguity: this role has no fixed job description. That is by design.
- EU work authorisation (we do not sponsor visas at this stage).
Nice to have:
- Working knowledge of German. Other European languages are also a plus.
- Background in or exposure to B2B SaaS, industrial technology, or asset management.
- Familiarity with or curiosity about AI-powered products and how they are positioned commercially.
- Prior experience working in an international or multicultural team.
What is hard about this job
- No predefined career path. This role grows with you, or it does not. If you are looking for a structured promotion track, this may not be the right fit.
- You will sometimes be the most junior person in a customer meeting. That requires maturity and composure.
- The founders have high standards and move fast. Feedback is direct.
- No team below you. You research, build, coordinate, and execute yourself.
