Bragi was founded in 2013 and launched the world's first Truly Wireless Earphones in 2015 (yes, a whole 12 months before the Airpods...)
Since then, we have evolved from a promising startup to a market-moving creator of innovative technology, opening the new category of Truly Wireless Earphones. Bragi transformed into a software enabler for consumer brands, focusing on scaling its technology after investing more than $90 million in software and AI.
Now we are a leader in the AI headphone space, known for our smart devices that integrate seamlessly into users' lives. With a focus on innovation and user experience, we are driving the evolution of wearable technology.
Head of QA
You’ll own the quality strategy, release readiness, and delivery outcomes across our Manual QA and Test Automation teams (16 direct reports), operating at the intersection of embedded firmware, mobile applications, and cloud services.
This is more than a people management role. You will define the company’s quality vision, build an automation-first testing organization, and establish the practices that determine whether software is ready to ship. As the final gatekeeper for product quality, you’ll own release quality standards and risk assessment.
This is a remote role, but you’re always welcome to join us in our Munich office.
What you will be working on
- Build, lead, and grow a high-performing QA organization through hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development
- Define and execute Bragi’s QA and Test Automation strategy across embedded firmware, mobile applications, and cloud services
- Drive an automation-first culture by expanding automated test coverage, improving framework reliability, and continuously reducing manual testing effort
- Define quality KPIs such as automation coverage, defect leakage, release stability, testing efficiency, and use them to drive continuous improvement
- Establish scalable QA processes, testing standards, documentation, tooling, and best practices across multiple engineering teams
- Provide technical leadership on complex validation challenges, including firmware validation, HW/SW integration, Bluetooth interoperability, firmware-app integration, AI feature validation, and lab/devboard environments
- Drive quality gates throughout CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated validation is an integral part of every software release
- Partner closely with engineering, product, and external partners to ensure quality is built into every stage of product development
- Guide the evolution of our test infrastructure, automation frameworks, and validation environments to improve developer productivity and release confidence
- Represent quality engineering in customer discussions, audits, and executive stakeholder reviews where required
What you will need
- 7+ years of experience in software QA, including at least 3 years leading QA organizations with a minimum of 5 direct reports
- Extensive hands-on experience testing embedded firmware and mobile applications, including firmware validation and system integration testing
- Proven experience defining company-wide QA strategies, validation plans, and release quality processes
- Demonstrated success building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing QA and Test Automation teams
- Deep expertise designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks using PyTest, Appium, or equivalent automation technologies
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and modern software delivery practices
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and implementing quality gates for continuous delivery
- Experience with API testing, system integration testing, and end-to-end validation workflows
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence engineering decisions across multiple teams
- Familiarity with AI engineering practices, including validating AI-powered features, LLM-based systems, and AI-assisted software development workflows
- Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks and an understanding of testing strategies for autonomous and multi-agent systems
Nice to have
- Experience with Bluetooth, audio, multimedia, or wearable device validation
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing or automated hardware validation
- Experience introducing AI-assisted test generation, autonomous testing, or intelligent QA tooling
