At Atira, "Forward Deployed Engineer" is not a re-labelled Solutions Architect or Customer Success role. The Palantir-grade FDE archetype is the centre of how we go to market.
An Atira FDE is the person who cares the most about a given customer and has the technical depth to do something about it. You will own the customer end-to-end: from first deployment to production rollout to developing new features our customers will love. You will sit with Heads of Sales, CSOs, CTOs, and CEOs, identify the internal champion, build what makes them successful.
As Atira scales, FDEs are at the heart of our GTM approach. We build industry specific “pods” consisting of FDE, AE, BDR, Product Marketer and are led by a GTM Engineer. The FDE is the technical and commercial anchor of that pod, and the person whose stories the entire GTM motion is built around.
Own the customer end-to-end. From kickoff to renewal, you are on the hook. You run SteerCos, scope deployments, drive onboarding, and decide what gets built next
Build the agents that make Atira work. You go deep on each customer's technical sales process, understanding it in all it’s details. You extend our harness to solve the most complex job functions of our users: how to configure machines according to the engineering experts, how to price large service agreements for billion dollar infrastructure projects or how to automate the multi-stakeholder internal communication
Decide what scales and what doesn't. You sit at the boundary between customer work and the core platform. You translate recurring patterns into platform features that scale across our customers in close collaboration with our horizontal engineering team
Identify and elevate champions. You spot the internal owner, build what they need to win politically
Tell the story. You speak at industry events, co-author case studies, and represent Atira in front of customer executives and prospects. The GTM motion is built around the stories you create
Ownership, drive, structured thinking, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity. You take problems personally, decide in the absence of a brief, and own the outcome including the downside. You are equally comfortable writing Python at midnight and walking into a CSO's office the next morning.
Your profile
Your native use of agents is build on deep software engineering fundamentals: Strong Python, TypeScript or related language skills - you can judge & ship production-grade code. Exposure to AI engineering (agents, harness, ML, RAG, …), deeper system design understanding or infra knowledge are a plus
Demonstrated ownership and initiative: a company you started, a leading role in a student initiative, an open-source project, a serious side build, or a role where you owned an outcome others would have delegated
You thrive in customer-facing situations: high-stakes conversations with executives energize you, you push back when needed, and you walk out with a clear next step
You’ve optimised your AI tooling: whether Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or your own pi mono setup - you’ve invested heavily in building the skills and context layer to get the maximum out of your coding agents
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, AI, or a related technical field, from a strong technical university
Full working proficiency in both German and English
Occasional on-site travel per customer requirements; 20-40% overall (DACH primarily, occasionally international)
Real ownership: you'll be one of the early team members and shape both product and architecture as well as work closely with customers

You independently run enterprise deployments end-to-end, from kickoff to production
Customers rely on you as their primary technical counterpart and trust your judgment
You've shipped agents, full-stack features and intuitive UI/UX elements to solve the most complex parts of technical sales processes into production, used across multiple accounts
Your learnings have shaped core platform features and the FDE playbook for the customers who come after you
