Die Position
We are looking for a highly motivatedR Scientist to drive research in the field of neurodegenerative diseases. In this role, you will focus on analyzing the aggregation properties of proteins, specifically regarding Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease, and will implement methods like the Seed Amplification Assays (SAA).Your responsibilities will encompass the planning, execution, and documentation of research on these assays and experimental methods to support a global project.
This position involves working primarily in the laboratory, where you will also take on routine organizational and coordinative tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
Your Key Responsibilities/Position:
- Plan and manage sub-projects while coordinating task execution largely independently.
- Conduct laboratory experiments in coordination with project teams and other lab infrastructure users.
- Analyze, interpret, and document R results independently, align with project teams and, where necessary, further subject matter experts, present your findings to relevant committees in both German and English.
- Act as the responsible equipment manager, maintaining measuring instruments independently.
- Ensure that all quality standards, safety guidelines, and environmental protection regulations are strictly met in the laboratory.
- Collaborate actively across subchapters or chapters, and occasionally represent the team leader in project teams when instructed.
- Track new developments in the field and evaluate their potential application in diagnostics.
Who you are:
- You have successfully completed a Master's degree in Neuroscience, Biology, or a comparable discipline.
- You bring at least 3 years of professional experience in neurosciences within national and international (especially US-American) environments.
- You possess profound, proven specialist knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases, with a specific focus on Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's dementia.
- You have several years of practical laboratory experience, whereby at least 1 year of hands-on experience with Seed Amplification Assays (SAA) is strictly required for this role.
- You have solid theoretical knowledge and practical experience with additional laboratory methods, particularly ELISA, flow cytometry, qPCR, and microscopy.
- You have a background in industrial diagnostics research, backed by strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Your scientific profile is complemented by practical experience in data analysis and statistics.
- You possess excellent advanced English and German skills (min. B2 level) and are proficient in standard IT tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and comparable Google software.
This position is limited to 2 years.
