About the role:
This role provides hands-on technical service and customer-facing support for BD solutions deployed across DoD/DHA healthcare environments in Europe. The Field Service Engineer will support Pyxis ES, Infusion and Parata technologies, with an initial operational focus expected on Parata and IC/IV support as the European service model transitions from U.S.-based resources to local regional capability. The role requires independent judgment, strong communication, proactive escalation of recurring issues, and the ability to represent BD professionally with DHA pharmacy, IT and site leadership stakeholders. The successful candidate must be willing and able to complete BD-led product training, including U.S.-
based training where required, and to participate in hands-on shadowing and onboarding activities to build field readiness
Accountabilities & Job objectives:
The Field Service Engineer (FSE) will provide remote and on-site reactive service for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems, Infusion technologies and Parata solutions located within U.S. Department of Defense / Defense Health Agency sites, including Military Treatment Facilities across Europe. The FSE will service hardware and software system components, support installation and upgrade activities, execute preventive maintenance where applicable, and participate in pre-installation testing, reconfiguration and documentation of technical issues. The role will also support the transition of Parata Mini preventive maintenance and service activities from U.S.-based resources to the European support structure, including preparation, field shadowing, documentation discipline and customer communication. The FSE is expected to identify recurring technical or environmental issues across sites, escalate them appropriately to BD leadership and program teams, and contribute to a reliable, sustainable support model for DoD/DHA customers.
Complete required BD product training for Pyxis ES, Parata and IC/IV technologies, including U.S.-based training where required, and apply learning through structured field shadowing and practical service support.
Provide professional, customer-facing support to DHA pharmacy, IT and site stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, timely follow-up and strong ownership of service outcomes.
Recognize patterns in recurring service, reliability or environmental issues across Military Treatment Facilities and escalate them through the appropriate BD service, program and leadership channels.
Support the regional transition plan for Parata Mini preventive maintenance and related service activities, including readiness preparation, tools/materials coordination, work order documentation and close-out discipline.
About you:
Must be a US Citizen with US Passport
Military (DOD) Field experience supporting medical or automation equipment in a healthcare setting a plus.
Must possess ability to obtain US DOD clearance and obtain CAC
Excellent customer and interpersonal skills at all levels.
Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
Well organized, process oriented and diligent with an eye for detail and quality.
Working knowledge of PC hardware, windows operating systems and basic networking. Certifications a plus.
Flexible & adaptable with capability and willingness to embrace change.
Excellent presentation and communication
English should be mother language, additional language welcome
Good skills in MS Office
Driver License
