The Team
A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice is looking to hire a Senior Associate /Director (m/f/d) in Operations & Supply Chain with a strong focus on the Food & Beverage industry.
This role is focused on leading and delivering large, complex engagements for private equity-backed food and beverage companies, working closely with PE deal teams and operating partners. You will play a key role in diagnosing operational performance, designing value-creation initiatives, and implementing sustainable improvement across manufacturing, production, and supply chain environments within fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and regulated food production settings.
How you will contribute
Evaluate the operability, efficiency, and compliance of food production and manufacturing facilities, including hygiene, safety, and regulatory readiness
Analyse current and historical operational data to assess productivity, capacity, yield, and performance across production lines, including equipment effectiveness, maintenance strategies, and supply chain flows
Gain hands-on shop floor insights by engaging with plant leadership, operations teams, and customers within food manufacturing environments, supported by deep data-driven analysis
Identify and quantify value creation and cost improvement opportunities, including lean transformations, waste reduction (food loss/waste), footprint optimisation, outsourcing, and site consolidation
Develop end-to-end transformation roadmaps tailored to food production environments, including clear impact assessment, risk mitigation, and implementation planning
Lead execution, oversee high-quality deliverables, and manage teams and client relationships to ensure exceptional results for private equity sponsors and portfolio companies in the food sector
Qualifications
Extensive professional experience combining industry and consulting, with a strong track record in Food & Beverage, FMCG, or adjacent manufacturing sectors
Proven experience working for or with private equity sponsors and PE-backed portfolio companies
Deep functional expertise in one or more of the following areas within manufacturing and/or food production:
Supply Chain Operations (FMCG / Food)
Manufacturing Operations, including S&OP / S&IOP
Footprint optimisation, plant consolidation, and production line transfers
Manufacturing strategy, CapEx planning, and operational excellence in food environments
Lean, Six Sigma, TOC, and Value Engineering applied to manufacturing efficiency and waste reduction
Demonstrated experience engaging with C-suite executives, as well as PE deal and operating partners
Fluency to native level in both written and verbal English and German is essential.
