We are seeking an enthusiastic Hardware Technician to join our international team and work on revolutionary products. The position entails working with the system validation for RF cellular team as well as other cross-functional groups for wireless technologies and 5G products. For the Silicon Design Centre a brand new building for research and development serves you with all you need for innovative work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting an engineering team with multiple projects by maintaining different Hardware, with the focus on prototype boards. As the Hardware Technician you will support Apple engineers with rework, disassembly and assembly of various type of devices.

Description
In the role of Hardware Technician you will drive hardware enablement in multiple areas for R&D labs. You will manually solder prototypes with latest engineering samples, replace defect components and enhance system boards with debugging interfaces. You will interact closely with our chip and system level engineering team securing their needs. You will participate in schematic and layout reviews for critical component placements for tomorrow's products.","responsibilities":"Service provider to support lab engineers in multiple lab disciplines with focus on system on board enablement.
Perform complicated reworks and modifications of circuit boards or products on the cutting edge of innovation.
Ability to understand schematics and manage sourcing of quick turn prototype boards.
Navigate PCB layout files and create detailed rework instructions if necessary.
Organise and maintain stock of critical components for rapid prototyping.
Align with international passive component suppliers.
Openness for new technologies (e.g. 3D design & printing for early prototypes).
Facilitate mechanical work.
You are in regular and close alignment with test engineers, peers and team leads.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work with microscopes.
Basic understanding of electric circuits, schematics and PCB viewer.
Basic mechanic skills.
Structured work capabilities, accept responsibilities and seek for excellence.
As a go-to person you need to have good communication skills, be team oriented and self organised.
Minimum Qualifications
Superb soldering / rework skills on RFIC chipset and PCB multilayer board.
PCB board assembly and rework.
Familiar with hot-air stations and heat-plates.
Experience with reflow process.
Proven experience in soldering SMD component size down to 01005 soldering in an R&D lab.
Experienced in manually reworking fine-pitch ICs, uBGAs and RF pigtails rework.
Hands-on skills to disassemble and re-assemble electronic devices under constraints of high component density.
