About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our German subsidiary of approximately 60 employees across two sites located in Mannheim and Bochum.
As a key member of the HR function, you will act as the main HR point of contact for local managers and employees, ensuring effective HR operations while supporting business growth and employee engagement in compliance with German labor law.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration
In coordination with the team lead of Admin & accounting based in Bochum:
- Manage all HR administrative activities throughout the employee lifecycle, including contracts, amendments, certificates, and employee records
- Ensure the accuracy and maintenance of HR data and personnel files in compliance with German legal requirements and GDPR regulations
- Coordinate employee benefits administration and liaise with external providers where applicable
- Prepare HR-related documentation and reports for management and Group HR
- Support monthly payroll preparation by providing accurate employee data and ensuring timely communication with payroll providers
- Monitor absences, vacations, sick leave, and other employee-related administrative processes
- Ensure compliance with local employment regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements
- Participate in the continuous improvement and digitalization of HR administrative processes
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage the full recruitment cycle for the German organization
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and attract qualified talent
- Coordinate onboarding and integration of new employees
- Support offboarding processes and exit management
HR Operations & Employee Support
- Provide day-to-day HR support to managers and employees
- Ensure smooth execution of HR administrative processes throughout the employee lifecycle
- Maintain HR documentation and ensure compliance with local regulations and internal Group policies
- Support payroll-related HR administration in collaboration with external providers
Employee Relations & Labor Law
- Manage and maintain constructive relationships with local Works Councils
- Support negotiations, consultations, and communication with employee representatives
- Ensure compliance with German labor law and collective agreements where applicable
- Advise managers on employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and HR best practices
Learning & Development
- Identify training and development needs in partnership with managers
- Coordinate local learning and development initiatives
- Support talent development
HR Projects & Group Collaboration
- Implement Group HR policies and initiatives locally
- Contribute to HR improvement projects and organizational development initiatives
- Ensure alignment between local HR practices and Group HR strategy
Profile
Experience & Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in a generalist HR role
- Proven experience managing employee relations and interactions with Works Councils in Germany
- Strong knowledge of German labor law and HR regulations
- Experience in an international environment is a plus
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Languages
- Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
- French is a plus
