Your tasks and responsibilities
- Requirement Engineering: Define the technical requirements for the blocker device, balancing signature reduction (RCS/IRS) with mechanical and aerodynamic constraints.
- State-of-the-Art Analysis: Evaluate existing designs and current material-based solutions in the aerospace industry.
- Multi-Layer Component Design: Select and define suitable absorbent materials and analyze its impact on the mechanical and electromagnetic properties of the underlying absorber.
- Numerical Simulation & Verification: Use advanced simulation tools to verify the performance of your design.
Desired skills and qualifications
- Academic Background: Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Technical Knowledge: solid understanding of material properties, interest in electromagnetic design activities, Basic knowledge of thermodynamics or heat transfer is highly beneficial and uderstanding of wave physics (electromagnetic or thermal) is a plus.
- Simulation Skills: Experience with numerical simulation methods (e.g., Finite Element Method (FEM), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), or Computational Electromagnetics) is highly desirable.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to solve complex, multi-physics problems where design concepts must be optimized for different physical phenomena simultaneously.
- Soft Skills: Proactive working style, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate technical results clearly in German.
