We are looking for a Unit QHSE Manager Inflight Catering
-
You will report to the Unit Manager
Key responsibilities:
Quality and Food Safety Management:
-
Food quality and safety are overseen by the QHSE Manager and aim to ensure the quality and safety of food and services. It includes:
-
Develop, implement and maintained the Quality and Food Safety management systems in accordance with Newrest standards
-
HACCP : conduct HACCP audit, update the Food Safety plan and lead the HACCP team
-
Halal Management and certification : update the Halal Safety plan
-
Winrest : Participation in the deployment of the Winrest solution, performance analysis…
-
Perform traceability exercises, mock recall and other mandatory exercices.
-
Participation in updating the preventive maintenance plan and cleaning plan
-
Ensure compliance with airline customer specification and regulatory requirements
-
Participation in the deployment of the Food Defense and Contingency plan
Health & Safety:
-
Implement and monitor occupational health and safety policies and procedures
-
Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate preventives measures are in place
-
Lead investigations of accidents, incidents and near misses
-
Promote a strong culture among all employees and contractors
Unit inspection:
-
Carry out unit inspections at the frequencies defined by the Newrest Group and assign corrective actions, where necessary (in case of identified non-conformities), to the managers responsible for the different departments.

Monitor and track the progress of action plans in coordination with the Unit Director and the managers of the various departments
-
Conducts a daily walk-through of the unit.

Unit inspection includes: HACCP, H&S, Environmental, first aid kit, extinguishers, …
-
Verification of records :
- Perform a daily random check of the records completed within the unit in order to ensure that operators carry out all mandatory records on a daily basis, particularly those related to CCPs and PRPOs, in accordance with the services scheduled in the production plan.
Equipment and Pest control:
-
Verification of subcontractor reports (archiving, report relevance, trend analysis) including Ecolab, Pest, uniform, waste.
-
Verification and calibration of thermometers, weights, scales and small equipments
Microbiological Analysis:
-
Create and update the control plan for the unit
-
Carry out food, surface and hand swabs sampling
-
Conduct root cause analysis in the event of microbiological non-conformities and ensure the implementation of action plans and effectiveness
Environmental Management:
-
Develop and maintain environmental management programs aimed at reducing waste, energy consumption, and environmental impact
-
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company sustainability targets
-
Monitor environmental performance indicators and implement improvement initiatives
Compliance & Audits:
-
Prepare and manage external audits from regulatory authorities, airline customers, and certification bodies
-
Maintain all required documentation and records related to QHSE systems
-
Answer to customer complaints (Food poisoning, foreign object…) with root cause analysis and achieve satisfactory closure.
-
Follow suppliers topics (complaints, self-evaluation, audits) and allergen management system
-
Manage non-conformities, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives on our internal platform
-
Participate to the Food Testing with CSM and carry out daily weight tests during site rounds in the production areas
Training & Awareness:
-
Develop and deliver QHSE training programs for staff and management
-
Ensure employees are aware of hygiene, safety and environmental procedures
-
In collaboration with the HR department, develop training plans and necessary training materials
-
Oversee compliance with QHSE procedures within teams, while encouraging employees to adopt a proactive approach to safety and quality
-
Create a QHSE Culture within the unit. This involves making QHSE principles an integral part of daily operations and ensuring that all employees are actively engaged in maintaining high standards.
Reporting & Leadership:
-
Monitor and report key QHSE performance indicators to top management + Providing support to process owners in analyzing their KPIs
-
Lead QHSE meetings and support operational teams in implementing corrective and preventive actions
-
Develop and follow the “I CARE” policy at the unit level
Management of Ramp Safety and Security:
-
Realise ramp safety audit
-
Knife recall simulation: participate in the exercise and conduct root cause analysis based on the results
-
Intrusion test: participate and monitor the test
-
Evacuation drill: coordinate and participate in the evacuation exercise; evaluate and perform root cause analysis of the results
Any other assignments given occasionally or on a daily basis by immediate superior or the management.
Qualifications
-
Minimum college degree, or skills acquired via job experience that are similar
-
A similar work experience from food industry – minimum 2 years
-
A background in ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IFS and HACCP standard would be an advantage
-
Experience managing audits and regulatory inspections
