Group Technology is the internal IT provider of the Munich Re Group, serving the majority of its entities worldwide.
The Subtower 1.1.1 Governance / Legal Framework ensures compliance with the global IT governance framework and alignment with the IT strategy, taking into account applicable legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. DORA, Solvency II, MaGo, and VAG).
The team designs and maintains selected governance elements for the global IT organization, including IT outsourcing reporting for IT service recipients, governance norms and controls for IT staff, and contractual frameworks governing internal IT delivery relationships between service providers and recipients.In addition, the unit is responsible for steering the legal organization of Group Technology.
Your Job

Help team members develop and organize essential governance documents and processes. This includes things like our Governance Policy, how the IT department is structured, key rules and procedures, and managing IT relationships.

Create clear and professional presentation materials, mainly PowerPoint slides, to explain governance elements and designs to managers for their approval and feedback.

Conduct Research / Analysis for relevant topics around IT / IT Governance with AI based methodologies (Prompting)
- Assist with the roll-out of standardized IT governance frameworks across our global Shared Service Organizations, helping to ensure consistent implementation in different countries.

Support the design and development of IT governance reporting solutions (e.g. KPI dashboards, compliance and risk reports)

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and support their translation into structured outputs

Contribute to data quality checks, validation activities, and documentation of reporting logic and Support the analysis and visualization of governance, risk, and performance-related data

Support ongoing governance-related projects, such as tracking legal and regulatory changes
- Communicate regularly with a diverse group of stakeholders involved in IT governance, including workforce management, onboarding teams, relationship managers, and managers within our global Shared Service Organizations.
Your Profile

You are currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Business Economics, Business Informatics (with a clear business focus, not purely technical), IT Risk Management, IT Compliance, or related interdisciplinary programs that combine business, IT and risk perspectives.

You possess strong PowerPoint skills and analytical / conceptual skills with an emphasis on applying them to real-world challenges in governance, compliance, or risk contexts.

Basic understanding or strong interest in data, reporting, or analytics (e.g. KPIs, dashboards, data models)

Affinity for structured data handling and willingness to work with data pipelines and reporting processes

Interest in using AI tools and prompt-based technologies is expected.

You have a proactive, reliable, and collaborative working style, comfortable communicating with diverse stakeholders both inside and outside the team.

You demonstrate advanced practical skills in Microsoft Office 365, with a particular focus on creating high-quality, structured, and impactful presentations in PowerPoint, essential for presenting governance concepts clearly to management. Expertise in Excel for data handling and analysis supports your role.

You are fluent in English, the primary working language (fluent or native in German is a plus)
- Practical experience in consulting, risk management, IT compliance, or corporate governance frameworks is a strong advantage and will help you quickly understand the organizational and regulatory environment in which we operate.
Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit. The first master's degree may not have been completed before/during the entire internship.
