with main focus on optics design for charged-particle optics instrumentation.
Company Description:
The Corrected Electron Optical Systems GmbH, founded in 1996 and located at Heidelberg,
Germany, develops and manufactures aberration-corrected electron optical imaging systems.
In the eld of Cc/Cs-correctors for TEM, STEM and SEM we are technology leader world wide.
Our main focus is on research projects for our industrial and academic partners, the development of
prototype instrumentation and the production of small-batch series of OEM devices.
Job Description:
In our group of physicists and engineers you will work on the development of advanced electron-
optical instrumentation. This requires extensive theoretical simulations, understanding of the
physical requirements and the ability to judge technological constraints. You will use our
proprietary software tools for ray tracing based on perturbation-theoretical methods, numerical
codes to calculate electromagnetic elds, and image analysis for aberration measurement. You will
also contribute to the improvement of our simulation and analysis tools. You will help to develop
novel theoretical solutions into real instrumentation and you will support the evaluation and
interpretation of test results from the prototypes.
Your profile:
The position requires a profound education in applied mathematics and physics. Prior experience in
optics design and eld calculation based on the boundary element method would be an advantage.
A broad technical and physical background, good communication skills and a responsible and
