In this role, you will drive the incubation, shaping, and commercialization of emerging portfolio offerings within Grid Consulting. You will work at the intersection of customer needs, consulting delivery, digital enablement, and strategic portfolio development, helping turn early-stage ideas into scalable advisory offerings for global energy-sector customers.
You will act as both executive project lead for selected innovation initiatives, supporting the development of new consulting approaches, testing them in customer-facing environments, refining them based on feedback, and preparing them for broader market adoption. The role requires close collaboration across Grid Consulting teams, internal portfolio management , internal technology and enablement functions, external partners, and customer stakeholders.
This position is focused on building repeatable, high-impact consulting offerings that strengthen Grid Consulting’s ability to address emerging challenges in grid modernization, energy transition, operational resilience, digitalization, and investment planning. In this role, you will act as the execution engine for Grid Consulting’s emerging portfolio, translating strategic direction into structured initiatives, validating market relevance and commercial positioning in real customer contexts, and driving progression of this emerging portfolio to pilots and further into scalable, repeatable offerings.
The role combines strategic thinking, entrepreneurial execution, stakeholder management, consulting delivery experience, and project governance. It requires moving fluidly between concept development, customer engagement, delivery coordination, commercial enablement, and portfolio maturation.
How You’ll Make an Impact

Lead the incubation and maturation of selected new portfolio offerings within Grid Consulting.

Act as PMO lead for innovation initiatives, coordinating pilots, customer engagements, internal workstreams, and feedback loops.

Test and refine new consulting approaches in real customer contexts, ensuring that lessons learned are translated into scalable delivery models.

Support the suite manager and other relevant teams in defining overall strategic direction, commercial positioning, market validation, and go-to-market preparation for emerging Grid Consulting offerings.

Translate customer challenges into reusable advisory methods, delivery assets, templates, and consulting playbooks.

Coordinate collaboration across technical consulting teams, business consulting teams, digital enablement functions, delivery partners, and regional stakeholders.

Establish pragmatic governance for pilot and incubation activities, including milestones, risks, dependencies, decision points, and stakeholder reporting.

Enable consulting teams globally through structured knowledge transfer, internal training, reference materials, and delivery guidance.

Support the transition of successful innovation initiatives from pilot stage into repeatable, scalable portfolio offerings.
What You Bring

Completed university degree in engineering, business, economics, or a related field; Master’s or Ph.D. degree preferred.

Long term professional experience in energy consulting, utilities, industrial decarbonization, grid modernization, or digital transformation.

Strong experience in developing, shaping, and delivering consulting offerings for electrical utilities, regulators, municipalities, investors, developers, or industrial customers.

Expertise in areas such as smart grids, grid investment planning, operational optimization, energy transition strategy, resilience, asset management, renewable integration, and carbon-reduction technologies.

Demonstrated ability to translate emerging customer needs into structured consulting propositions, pilot concepts, scalable methodologies, and commercially viable service offerings.

Experience leading complex consulting or innovation projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Strong understanding of digitalization, data-driven advisory approaches, and the use of advanced analytics or AI-enabled methods in the energy sector.

Ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders, including utility executives, regulators, investors, municipalities, developers, and internal leadership teams.

Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills.

Business-fluent English required; German or other languages are an advantage.

Flexibility to travel as needed, up to 40%.
