We are looking for a Head of Business Operations & Strategy Motors to help build and propel the next phase of growth for eBay Motors in Germany. In this role, you will take responsibility for business performance, strategic direction, and operational execution across Parts and Accessories.
In this global role, you will partner with senior cross-functional leaders and international collaborators to identify priorities, influence roadmaps, direct investment decisions, and convert strategy into measurable business outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, commercially minded leader who combines strong analytical skills with operational excellence, collaborator influence, and a passion for strategy development.
- Lead the Motors business operations and strategy agenda for Germany, with shared responsibility for growth, profitability, and key performance drivers across the category.
- Define the strategic direction for Parts & Accessories. Identify where to focus and how to win based on market dynamics, seller and buyer needs, customer shopping trends, and the competitive landscape.
- Translate the most impactful growth opportunities across supply, demand, inventory, and buyer experience into clear priorities, actionable plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Drive key category initiatives in close collaboration with global and local partners, including Category Management, Marketing, Seller Development, Product, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams.
- Own and continuously improve operational cadences, including business reviews, insights generation, reporting, trading routines, and performance management against defined benchmarks.
- Assess inventory insights, product trends, market data, industry dynamics, and competitive developments to uncover growth opportunities and product refinements for eBay Motors.
- 6–10 years of relevant professional experience in consulting, strategy, business operations, business development, or commercial leadership; experience in a leading strategy consultancy is strongly preferred.
- Experience in Automotive, Motors, Parts & Accessories, ecommerce, or marketplace businesses is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to take end-to-end ownership of a business area, including strategy definition, commercial performance, execution, and delivery through cross-functional teams.
- Strong strategic skills, demonstrated by the ability to break down complex problems, set clear direction, and transform opportunities into focused priorities and actionable plans.
- Excellent analytical skills and business judgment, with confidence in using data, market insights, and performance metrics to drive decisions.
- Strong collaborator management skills, especially in working with senior cross-functional leaders and influencing decision-making in a matrixed, international environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both German and English (proficient German is a must for this role).
- Advanced skills in Google Slides and Sheets, PowerPoint, and Excel are required.
- A cooperative leadership approach, robust interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to operate efficiently across teams, markets, and functions.
This is a hybrid role based in Kleinmachnow/Berlin, Germany. Working from home is possible, with regular office presence (3 days/week) required to collaborate closely with the team.
