The Sensory Analytics and Technologies department focuses, among other things, on analytical and human sensory methods for characterizing and optimizing product properties, such as odor, taste, texture and haptics, as well as visual and acoustic appearance.
Be part of change
Our Sensory Analytics and Technologies department in Freising offers thesis projects and internships with a possible duration of 3 to 6 months in the following areas:
- Analytical investigation of odors and aromas, including off-odors
- Development and validation of miniaturized gas measurement technology and sensor systems
- Characterization of dynamic emission processes and aroma release
- VOC analysis in the fields of food, non-food, and health
- Human sensory studies of food, non-food, and cosmetic products
- Multisensory perception processes and consumer behavior
- Scientific substantiation of claims for cosmetic products
- Development and application of machine learning and data analysis methods
What you contribute
- Ongoing enrollment in food chemistry or food technology, chemistry, physics, engineering, molecular sciences, nutritional sciences, biology, or psychology
- Careful and reliable working style
- Ability to work in a team and show initiative
- Creativity and analytical thinking skills
- Enjoyment of summarizing and interpreting scientific publications
- Good German and English language skills, at least B2 level
- Complete and meaningful application documents, including CV, cover letter, and transcript of records and/or certificates
