Mission
TechMiners builds the data infrastructure that powers high-stakes investment decisions. When a PE firm is about to commit €500M, our platform has already ingested the target's repositories, ticketing systems, and documentation, and turned raw engineering signals into investment-grade intelligence. Accuracy is non-negotiable: the platform informs decisions where being wrong is expensive.
And we're scaling: more mandates, more data sources, more complexity. We need an engineer who's been here before.
What you’ll do
- Use AI-augmented engineering techniques to move faster and build smarter, while knowing exactly when deterministic, verifiable logic is the right call.
- Expand our data pipelines that ingest, normalize, and analyze signals across thousands of repositories and dozens of heterogeneous systems in parallel; overnight, reliably, autonomously, and at scale.
- Work across the full stack, and we mean full: Django/FastAPI on the backend, React on the front, plus AWS, Postgres, Parquet, dbt, Prefect, SQL. One week you're writing a pipeline for a freshly onboarded data source, the next you’re designing a backend API, while the week after you’re building a React view our CTOs use to analyze a target.
- Raise the bar on reliability, accuracy, and the user experience of a tool that the veteran CTOs depend on daily.
- Contribute to how we measure engineering quality, team health, and product maturity across target companies through data-driven insights
Who you are
You've probably built something where correct output was crucial: a data platform, a financial tool, a compliance system, an analytics product used by people making expensive decisions. Something where “good enough” was not good enough.
Your mindset is entrepreneurial, you think in results and product value, not lines of code. You ship prototypes to validate at 80% before going all in on the perfect solution - as long as data integrity remains absolute.
You were an early adopter of agentic engineering workflows and masterly command tools like Cursor and Claude Code. They act as a force multiplier that lets you operate at the capacity of a small team while maintaining the focus and accountability of an individual contributor.
Concretely:
- Prior experience designing and operating data pipelines and workflow orchestration at non-trivial scale
- Strong product instincts: you've pushed back on specs because the UX was wrong, not just the implementation
- High-agency: you prefer owning a problem over being assigned a ticket
Bonus Points:
- Former technical founder or early-stage startup experience
- ML/AI background or familiarity with the LLM framework ecosystem
- CS degree or comparable
Why TechMiners
- When we say ownership, we mean it - equity is part of compensation at TechMiners. Be part of the success.
- Work on a product where accuracy and speed really matter.
- Shape the architecture and roadmap with experienced technical leaders.
- Join the rare opportunity where you build a product whose customers (the CTOs) are sitting right next to you, providing instant feedback and allowing significant velocity
- We are interested in checking out the latest tools in a controlled environment. You get to propose anything that’s useful and can assume the budget and space to experiment.
- Berlin-friendly, remote-first, and ideal for people who want serious impact without bureaucracy.
