As a part of the larger Engineering department, the Platform team plays a crucial role in enhancing emnify competitive edge by improving developer experience to increase development efficiency and scale productivity.
You will join a growing team, fostering empathy and a collaboration mindset to ensure continuous improvement of development experience at emnify. The Platform team provides, in addition to the centrally managed infrastructure used by all the teams for observability and CI/CD, consultation and hands-on support to the engineering teams.
As the authority in everything AWS, you’ll guide infrastructure engineers in AWS best practices, collaborate with the security team to ensure and improve our cloud infrastructure security, and implement new features and services in emnify AWS infrastructure. Your experience and advice may be the push that brings a project to the finish line.
This position is about 50% AWS Architect and 50% DevOps/SRE.
You’ll take part in designing, building, and maintaining the company’s AWS posture. Further, improve the developer experience of cross-functional teams to run their services on AWS. Design and implement standardization and guard rails using AWS Organization and collaborate with the security team to harden our infrastructure and services.
You’ll spearhead infrastructure cost reduction and capacity planning initiatives across the engineering department in collaboration with the product teams and management.
You’ll continuously improve our CI/CD systems and concepts, enabling product teams to safely and efficiently deploy their applications on AWS managed services and Kubernetes.
You’ll collaborate with the product teams and take an active part in implementing new infrastructure and services providing valuable insights and implementation recommendations to ensure the successful and timely delivery of the projects.
- Strong hands-on experience architecting and operating AWS cloud environments in production.
- Experience with cost-optimization at large scale, multi-region, and highly available architectures.
- Solid experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo suite) Strong experience managing EKS and microservices architectures.
- Strong fundamentals of networks, security, monitoring, and Linux systems administration.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, EventBridge).
- The "AWS Solution Architect - Professional" certificate is required
