Building data-driven products is your passion and you love turning complex data into valuable assets? Whether your roots are in cloud-native software engineering or in data engineering; you have hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry and want to leverage that experience to build something new and exciting? Sound like you? Then we need YOU on our team!
With us, you will work on large, complex data platform projects: helping our customers become cloud-native, data-driven companies — and building and growing our own ontology modeling platform, a semantic knowledge layer that makes data truly accessible to business users.
-
Design and develop cloud-native applications and data platforms in agile, cross-functional teams - delivering valuable software in short iterations.
-
Build and evolve our semantic knowledge layer platform on Azure; ontology modeling, data binding, knowledge graph interaction, AI-agent-based querying, and integrations with services such as Azure Databricks and Azure OpenAI.
-
Depending on your background: deliver applications that bring use cases to life for users, or deliver the data products and insights that power them.
-
Bring your Palantir Foundry expertise to the table in customer projects and in shaping how we approach ontology modeling, pipeline development and application building in our own platform.
-
Own what you ship: deploy, operate and automate your applications in a cloud-native environment (Azure Container Apps, Kubernetes).
-
Work AI-first: use AI coding assistants and agents as an integral part of your daily development workflow, and help evolve how we apply AI across our engineering practice.
-
Test, validate, and iterate on features based on customer feedback and product metrics.
-
Work closely with Product Owners and cross-functional teams, and translate user and business demands into clear and feasible engineering tasks.
-
Make robust technical decisions and take ownership in driving products and platforms to the next level.
-
Share your knowledge through code reviews, pair programming and active knowledge exchange, and help shape our engineering culture with new tools, methodologies and best practices.
At heart you are a passionate team player who values collaboration, feedback, and continuous improvement, as:
-
You have hands-on Palantir Foundry experience; ontology modeling, pipeline development, or Foundry application configuration.
-
You have 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Native Software Engineer or Data Engineer.
-
You have a solid academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
-
You have a deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle and are familiar with CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure as code, and cloud platforms.
-
You have a strong sense for code quality, documentation and maintainability, and you rely on metrics to guide your decisions while staying open to feedback.
-
You are fluent in English, both spoken and written (German is a plus).
-
You leverage AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) as a natural part of how you build software, combining their speed with your own judgement on quality and correctness.
-
Experience with knowledge graphs or semantic technologies beyond Foundry (e.g. RDF, OWL, SPARQL, property graphs) and with building AI agents / LLM-based features (e.g. Azure OpenAI) is a plus.
You specialize in one (or both) of the two:
Cloud Native Engineering
-
You have strong backend experience with TypeScript, or with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot, and a track record of shipping applications to real users.
-
You have experience designing and building APIs (GraphQL is a strong plus) and taking applications all the way to production in cloud environments.
-
Exposure to frontend ecosystems like React is a plus.
Data Engineering
-
You have experience in either Python or Scala, and SQL.
-
You have experience in semantic modelling of complex data landscapes and in turning them into use-case-ready data products that analytics and applications can consume.
-
You know how to structure data pipelines for reliability, scalability and optimal performance (e.g. with Spark or Flink) with the goal of delivering trusted insights to users.
-
Experience with cloud data technologies (Azure Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake, BigQuery) or real-time data pipelines (Kafka, Kinesis, Dataflow) is a plus.
-
Hybrid work culture with flexibility between office and home
-
Work remotely from anywhere in the EU for up to 6 weeks per year
-
JobTicket for public transportation in Cologne
-
Development support: certifications covered + €2,000 annual conference budget
-
Childcare support and company pension plan for your long-term well-being
-
Choose your preferred work setup: MacOS or Windows
-
Access to leading AI tools: work with the tools that suit you best, including ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, and more
