Big Energy - Powered by Bold People
We are a growing company where innovation isn’t just a buzzword - it’s how we work every day. AI is at the core of what we build, especially where engineering meets intelligent systems.
As a Working Student in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering for AI Applications, you’ll connect real-world engineering knowledge with AI use cases - from supporting visual inspection models to structuring technical specifications for AI tools. f you’re curious about applying AI to industrial challenges and turning data into practical solutions, you’ll fit right in.
- Act as the bridge between our engineering domain knowledge and our AI use cases.
- Support our Visual Inspector project: help define visual inspection criteria for high-voltage components, label and curate image datasets, and validate the model's outputs against real engineering and quality standards.
- Support our Spec Analyzer: help structure technical specifications and map electrical/mechanical requirements (IEC / IEEE / ANSI standards, product characteristics) into a form our AI tools can use.
- Build and clean training and evaluation datasets from manufacturing, quality and product master data.
- Translate engineering and shop-floor requirements into clear, actionable requirements for the AI/BI team.
- Test AI tools against real product data and document what works, what doesn't, and why.
- Enrolled student for at least 12 more month in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Energy Engineering or a related field.
- Genuine interest in applying AI/ML to industrial and manufacturing problems.
Basic understanding of technical drawings, manufacturing processes, and/or electrical standards.
- A structured, detail-oriented way of working — essential for data labeling and validation.
Knowledge of Python and basic data analysis (pandas, S- L). Familiarity with ML concepts - classification, computer vision, or LLMs.
- Exposure to high-voltage equipment, transformers, or similar power products.
- Experience with SAP or PLM/product data.
- Good communication in German and English (German is helpful for engineering and shop-floor documentation).
- Growth with Purpose: Join a globally growing energy company with a vision and a bright future in the energy transition
- Strong Teams, Big Energy: Work in highly professional, international teams defined by respect, appreciation, and a d drive to shape the future of energy
- Fair Rewards: Competitive pay, monthly vouchers for shopping, well‑being, or personal development, plus subsidized lunch and membership in a corporate benefits program
- Personal & Professional Development: Learn and grow in an international environment with hands‑on experience and continuous development opportunities
- Modern Working Environment: A modern way of working, 30 days’ vacation, and a tariff agreement combined with contemporary offices, height‑adjustable desks, free fruit & coffee, and regular team events
