About the role & team
The Motors team sits within eBay’s Global Focused Categories organization, where category expertise, commercial strategy and marketplace insight come together to accelerate growth in priority areas. In Germany, Motors & Parts/Accessories is a high-impact category with significant opportunity, and this role will help shape its direction by partnering cross-functionally to enhance the buyer experience, support seller success and deliver sustainable growth. It’s an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong commercial judgment with strategic thinking and enjoys working collaboratively to make a visible impact.
As a Senior Category Manager, you will manage and develop one or multiple categories within the Motors Vertical team. The role includes strategy definition, operational cadences (insights, reporting, trading), relationship with allocated brands and retailers. You will also lead wider, cross-functional and cross-category projects.
What you will accomplish
Be part of the global eBay Motors team and drive key Motors projects in close cooperation with multi-national partners and stakeholders
Provide ongoing inventory-/ category management including coordination, delivery of category insights as well as sourcing and marketing of inventory
Analysis of inventory insights, product trends, market data, industry dynamics, customer shopping trends and the competitive landscape to assess growth opportunities and product improvements for eBay Motors
Manage category business performance based on defined KPIs
Build and strengthen relationships with sellers and manufacturers to identify scaling opportunities and industry trends
Cross-organizational collaboration with other teams (marketing, customer service, seller development and others) in conceptualizing, planning as well as executing campaigns and initiatives
What you will bring
5+ years of hands-on experience in category management, business development or project management, preferably in the Automotive or Parts & Accessories area
Ability to drive projects to success with high degree of ownership and commitment to results
Strong analytical skills/thinking
Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English (both fluent) in large or small group settings
Advanced skills in Google slides & sheets, PowerPoint and Excel are a must, SQL preferred
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Hybrid job setup: Home Office is possible – 3 days in the office to collaborate with the team is required
