Systems Engineering Manager (m/f/d)
Technology development and ISS payloads are relatively small projects, which require Systems Engineering Managers (SEM). Technology development paves the way to future projects and makes the OHB group more competitive. Small projects such as ISS payloads brings high-tech into space. Your Tasks
- Lead a team of Systems Engineers in their respective assignments on a project
- Act as main focal point on technical issues to Project Managers, AIT, PA/QA, SCM and Customers

Define the system requirements, coordinated with the project management

Define the systems engineering processes and generate an SEP (Systems Engineering Plan), applicable to organize and coordinate the work between the company entities (SE, ENG, AIT, PA/QA and SCM) and the Project Management
- Define the basic concepts (top level system design), suitable to fulfill the system requirements in collaboration with the Systems Engineering and Functional Engineering teams. Augment and implement new technologies, if suitable
- Generate cost, schedule and performance projections based on the top-level system design
- Organize regular checkpoints during the project, integrate cost- and technical budget contributions to establish the overall budgets on system level
- Evaluate the running development and design, including initializing independent analyses according to system requirements. Undertake corrective steps in case of deviations
- Review the current design and adjust it so that it meets the overall business or mission objectives of OHB, sponsor or customer and user. If necessary, propose changes for contractor's design activities and deliverables to correct performance shortfalls or to mitigate risks
- Perform analyses of satellite functional, performance and interface requirements

Act as Systems Engineering responsible for the technical portions of CCNs (contract change note). Arrange implementation of agreed changes to the corresponding design and deliverables and of the implementation of RFWs (request for waiver) or RFDs (request for deviation)
- Take care that Launch, LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) and IOT (In Orbit Test) are properly prepared and lead the corresponding activities during these phases

Ensure technical information exchange and networking within project team, with functional departments and external entities
Your Qualifications

Degree in engineering, physics or equivalent

Professional experience in satellite design would be advantageous

Self-management and a pro-active working style

Ability to work in a team

Working level proficiency in written and spoken English and German. Other language skills are advantageous
