Project description
The R&D team at SSP is looking for a motivated individual to work alongside our engineers to develop new products. You would be a part of an experienced research team that develops market competitive and cost-effective safety solutions. Support for the series launch of products and development and testing of operating equipment. Introduction to software development according to functional safety and its tests.
Key learning outcomes
Hardware
- As a member of our R&D team working on this project, you will be trained in Altium Designer, an industry-leading PCB design software. You would be trained in agile hardware development techniques developed by our engineers. You will be trained in component selection and evaluation with unit manufacturing costs in mind, as well as hardware design and debugging techniques.
Software
You will be trained in the development of software architectures with functional safety in mind. You will take responsibility for the development of software functions. The optimization and functional enhancement of our applications and the GUI are tasks.
Qualifications
- Technical background in electrical, electronic or mechatronics engineering
- Experience in reading and understanding circuit schematics
- Experience with basic PCB design
- Experience in handling test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer etc.
- Experience in soldering and handling SMD electronics is an advantage
- Experience in developing microcontroller firmware
- Experience in the C programming language
- Experience in developing Apps is an advantage
- Good spoken and written English skills
Project responsibilities
- Developing a thorough understanding of the existing product schematics
- Component selection driven by cost and availability forecasts
- Developing modular schematics and boards for testing according to the SSP conventions
- Prototyping, assembling, and testing the modular PCBs
- Product level testing
- Documenting all activities related to the project according to SSP conventions
- Developing Firmware for products and test equipment
