A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice works with leading private equity investors and their portfolio companies across Europe. We support clients across the full investment lifecycle: pre-deal diligence, sign-to-close, 100-day planning, value creation, transformation, post-merger integration, carve-outs and exit readiness.
Our work is practical, fact-based and implementation-oriented. We help clients identify and quantify performance improvement opportunities, translate them into clear execution plans and deliver measurable improvements in EBITDA, cash flow, working capital and enterprise value.
- Support and lead workstreams across performance improvement, value creation, operational and commercial due diligence, carve-outs, merger integrations and transformation programmes
- Build robust fact bases through data analysis, financial analysis, operational KPI reviews, management interviews, process assessments and market research
- Identify, quantify and validate value creation initiatives across revenue growth, margin improvement, pricing, cost reduction, SG&A, procurement, operations, supply chain, working capital and cash
- Work directly with client management teams to align priorities, track progress, resolve issues and drive execution
- Collaborate with colleagues across PEPI Europe and other A&M practices, including Transaction Advisory, Corporate Transformation, Restructuring, Tax, IT, Procurement and Operations
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in consulting, private equity, corporate transformation or an operational performance improvement environment
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: operational due diligence, commercial due diligence, value creation planning, transformation, carve-outs, post-merger integration, operations, supply chain, procurement, finance transformation, working capital or cash improvement
- Master’s degree from a leading university or equivalent strong academic background
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex data into practical recommendations
- Solid financial acumen, including understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and the financial impact of transformation initiatives
- Ability to build robust Excel-based analyses and financial models; experience with three-statement modelling is an advantage
- Familiarity with PMO structures, KPI tracking, benefits realisation and implementation planning
- Experience with cash and liquidity programmes, including 13-week cash flow forecasting, is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Hands-on, pragmatic and entrepreneurial mindset
- Fluency in German and English is essential; additional European languages are a plus
