Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Outbound Supervisor to lead our warehouse operations with enthusiasm and precision. In this vital role, you will oversee daily distribution center activities, manage a team of warehouse staff and process improvements. Your leadership will drive safety, efficiency, and accuracy across all warehouse functions, supporting our commitment to excellence in logistics.
Duties
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, and materials handling to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates, providing clear managerial communication and fostering a positive work environment.
- Oversee the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners, ensuring safety and proper usage in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Implement process improvements using lean management principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management systems like AS400.
- Coordinate logistics activities to ensure timely dispatches and deliveries within distribution center operations.
- Enforce safety protocols and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Outbound Supervisor or in a similar warehouse management role within distribution center operations.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, inventory control, shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling.
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts, heavy lifting equipment, and using inventory management systems such as RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively with excellent managerial communication skills.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies like lean management is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with logistics software such as OSHAs standards, AS400, or similar systems is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
