We're recruiting on behalf of a global manufacturing business looking to appoint an experienced Plant Controller to join their site in Riedlingen, Germany. This is a senior finance leadership role offering the opportunity to influence business performance, drive operational improvements and partner with senior leadership across Europe.
Reporting directly to the Vice President Finance Europe, you'll lead financial controlling activities for the site, support the rollout of Microsoft Dynamics, improve financial processes through Lean methodologies and provide strategic financial insight to support business growth.
What You'll Be Doing Financial Controlling & Reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
- Deliver insightful financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Standardise and automate financial reporting processes.
- Develop costing models and value stream analysis tools.
- Provide financial insight to support strategic business decisions.
- Manage inventory valuation and standard costing.
- Oversee financial reporting, P&L and balance sheet performance.
- Support capital investment and development projects.
- Partner with UK headquarters on financial reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems and processes.
- Act as a trusted finance business partner to senior management.
Operational Excellence
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability.
- Implement Lean Finance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyse manufacturing performance and capacity utilisation.
- Develop Lean-based costing and quotation processes.
- Support ERP and financial system improvements, including Microsoft Dynamics.
- Ensure financial processes align with business strategy.
Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop a team of three Controllers.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure compliance with corporate financial standards and best practice.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
- 10+ years' experience in Financial Controlling within manufacturing.
- Degree in Finance, Controlling or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
- Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- Strong analytical, commercial and decision-making skills.
