Duties

Basic Function of the Position

The Audio-Visual Technician provides operational support for multimedia technology for Mission ICASS
subscribers and serves as a point of contact for audiovisual setup, operation, and troubleshooting in accordance
with established procedures. Performs installation, configuration, and testing of audiovisual and multimedia
equipment under established procedures and technical guidance, including cameras, microphones, video
recorders, projectors, interactive whiteboards, lighting, and audio mixing equipment. Provides basic end-user
guidance on system operation. Connects and tests audiovisual equipment to existing communications networks
to ensure proper functionality. Monitors IPTV multicast systems, official cable/satellite television systems, and
digital signage displays, performing routine checks and basic troubleshooting, and escalating technical issues to
appropriate systems administrators or senior technical staff as required. Supports the setup and operation of
meetings and events, including conferences, briefings, and broadcasts, by providing technical preparation, onsite
support, and troubleshooting under established procedures.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two years of hands-on experience installing and maintaining audiovisual systems and supporting
audiovisual requirements for events.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of audiovisual theory and practices, including installation, operation, maintenance, testing,
and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems.

Knowledge of audiovisual cabling and infrastructure standards and practices.

Knowledge of host country telecommunications and internet access regulations and protocols relevant to
audiovisual system operations.

Basic knowledge of inventory management principles and procedures for tracking audiovisual equipment
and supplies.

Education Requirements:

At least two years of post-secondary study at a vocational college or university in multimedia production,
audiovisual engineering, infrastructure, telecommunications, or network systems is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:

English - Good working knowledge (speaking/writing/reading) is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical and logistic problems related to multimedia equipment is required (this may be tested).

Ability to communicate orally and convey technical information to both none and expert personnel is required (this may be tested).

Incumbent must be able to train and direct others in the operation of DVC equipment (this may be tested).

Incumbent must be able to diagnose and solve problems in a timely manner (this may be tested).

Agency Benefits:

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
