Job Title: Principal Test Engineer
Job Duties: Manage complex rail system safety projects, including project development, budgeting, staff supervision, scheduling, status reporting, documentation production, and client interface. Consult on rail systems safety programs, railroad operating practices, application of regulations and industry standards, risk assessment, and hazard prevention/mitigation. Perform safety, reliability, and quality audits of transportation systems, railway operations, and train control system application and practices. Assure that safety designs demonstrate rigorous safety concepts and design principles. Evaluate designs for compliance with customer requirements and regulatory requirements. Qualify products and systems to domestic and international standards.
Work Location: Pleasanton, CA
Hours/Week: 40 (Full-time)
Salary Range: $185,000-$205,000 per year
Requirements: Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Rail Engineering or Environmental Policy and 5 years of related experience in rail safety required, including safety assessments of railway systems, risk management, hazard identification. Occasional domestic and international travel to client and project sites required..
