The Chair of Marketing Management (Marketing Center Münster) at the School of Business and Economics at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a
for the externally funded project “Understanding, Communicating, and Quantifying the Value of Circular Offerings in Business-to-Business Markets” under the supervision of Dr. Victoria Kramer. The position is offered as a fixed-term part-time appointment (75%) for three years, corresponding to the project’s duration.
Our Institute:
The Chair of Marketing Management was founded in 1969 by Prof Heribert Meffert as the first marketing chair in Germany. Today, Prof Manfred Krafft leads our young and dedicated team, which is always guided by our overarching conceptual philosophy of marketing strategy and customer centricity. Those concepts being the core of our activities, we cover three adjacent main research areas: sales management, channels & retailing and customer management.
- Pursuit of a doctoral degree (Dr. rer. pol.) in the field of sustainable and circular business models in B2B markets, supervised by the project leader and the head of the institute
- Contributing to a research project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG)
- Work on the project’s core research topics: qualitative analysis of organizational decision-making logics regarding the adoption of circular business models, experimental preference measurement to identify value drivers of circular offerings, and quantitative investigation of the financial impact of circular strategies on firm value using text-mining and panel data
- Preparation and co-authorship of scientific publications in international academic journals
- Close collaboration with international project partners from the Netherlands and Finland
- Acquisition and management of relationships with industry partners
- Contribution to acquiring additional third-party funding where appropriate
- A graduate degree (German Diplom or master’s degree) in Business Administration, Psychology, or Engineering
- Very good command of German and English (C1) in written and spoken form
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, including confidence in working with qualitative and quantitative data
- Initial experience with qualitative, experimental, or quantitative research methods
- Strong interest in topics in the areas of sustainability, B2B marketing, and/or sales
- Practical working experience in the B2B context is considered a benefit
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration is welcome
- Ability to work independently, strong organizational skills, and team spirit
- The position offers you the opportunity to complete a cumulative dissertation within the framework of a DFG-funded project – with no teaching obligations and full focus on your research
