About MotionLab.Berlin
MotionLab.Berlin is Germany's leading hardtech and deep tech hub — a place where startups, students and engineers come together to build real hardware. Alongside our accelerator programs, we run the Tech Talent Program: a 12-week industry challenge program where student teams work directly with deep tech companies to solve real engineering problems, from vacuum chambers to quadruped robots.
Batch 9 kicks off in September 2026 with five live challenges, five student teams, and a community of coaches, founders and engineers building things that matter.
The Role
We're looking for someone to join our marketing and communications team for three months to capture and create content around Batch 9 — from kickoff to Graduation Day. You'll be embedded in the program itself: at workshops, challenge check-ins, machine onboarding sessions and company visits, telling the story of what's actually happening as it happens, while helping us build the content engine behind it.
What You'll Do
-
Capture photo and video content at kickoff week, workshops, challenge check-ins, and company visits (including on-site trips to challenge partners)
-
Turn raw footage and moments into content for LinkedIn, Instagram and our website — reels, photo stories, behind-the-scenes content, student and coach spotlights
-
Interview students, coaches and challenge partners to surface stories worth telling
-
Help us test AI tools for editing, transcription and tagging
-
Support the planning and documentation of Graduation Day
-
Work closely with the Program Lead and Communications team to align content with what's actually happening on the ground
-
Help build a content archive that can be reused for future batches, partner communications and recruitment
What You Bring
- A genuine interest in content creation, storytelling or marketing — student, recent graduate, or career-changer all welcome
-
Comfortable with a camera (photo and/or video) — professional equipment experience is a plus, not a requirement
-
Basic editing skills (e.g. CapCut, Premiere, Canva, Lightroom — whatever you're fluent in)
-
Self-organised and proactive — you'll often be capturing content independently, not waiting to be told what to shoot
-
Fluent or strong working English; German is a plus for internal communication but not required
-
Genuinely curious about engineering, startups and hardtech — you don't need a technical background, but you should be excited to be around people who build things
What You'll Get
- Full immersion in a live 12-week hardtech program — kickoff, company visits, workshops, Graduation Day
-
Direct mentorship from our marketing and communications team
-
A real portfolio of published content by the end of the internship
-
Access to MotionLab.Berlin's community, events and network of founders, engineers and deep tech companies
-
A front-row seat to how a hardtech ecosystem actually works
Practical Details
- Duration: 3 months, aligned with Tech Talent Program Batch 9 (approx. late September – December 2026)
-
Hours: 30–32 hours per week
-
Compensation: Unpaid internship (tbd)
-
Location: MotionLab.Berlin, Bouchéstraße 12, Halle 20, 12435 Berlin — on-site presence required, some travel to challenge partner sites possible
-
Start date: Flexible around late September 2026
How to Apply
Submit a short motivation note and a few examples of content you've created (a portfolio, Instagram/TikTok, or anything you're proud of). No formal CV required — we care more about what you've made than what's on paper.
