This role sits at the intersection of sourcing and sales with a strong initial focus on the sourcing side. You will take end-to-end ownership of commercial opportunities from origination through negotiation and closing – working closely with interdisciplinary teams across the organization:
-
You own the acquisition of battery feedstock – production scrap and end-of-life batteries – across selected channels and partners.
-
You build and develop relationships with relevant partners across the battery, recycling, and waste ecosystem.
-
You develop, structure, and negotiate sourcing and off-take agreements and drive them toward execution and closing.
-
You drive commercial activities on the sales side for recycled products such as black mass, lithium carbonate, MHP, and related outputs.
-
You monitor market developments, pricing trends, competitor activity, and partnership opportunities across the battery recycling ecosystem and translate them into actionable priorities.
-
You evaluate the commercial attractiveness and strategic fit of sourcing and sales opportunities.
-
You represent cylib as a trusted and capable partner in the circular battery materials market, including at fairs and conferences.
-
You bring several years of experience in business development, key account management, commercial partnerships, sourcing, or sales — in the battery, recycling, waste, metals, chemicals, or adjacent industrial sectors.
-
You have a strong network in the battery industry, or recycling ecosystem, and know how to open doors, build trust, and develop long-term relationships in complex industrial markets.
-
You have a good understanding of production scrap, end-of-life batteries, recycling value chains, or industrial waste streams.
-
You are comfortable with the full commercial cycle: from spotting an opportunity to structuring a deal and getting it across the line.
-
You are proficient with standard CRM systems and use them to track opportunities and keep your pipeline under control.
-
You think and act like an owner by taking full end-to-end responsibility for your topics, setting your own priorities, and driving them to completion.
-
You thrive in environments where structures are still being built and not everything is defined yet.
-
You communicate clearly and confidently with internal and external stakeholders – in both German and English; further languages are a plus.
-
You take ownership from day one – after an intensive onboarding, you'll build something unique with us and shape outcomes with real impact on results.
-
You work on something that truly matters – with your contribution, you strengthen Europe's battery supply chains and make circular economy a reality on an industrial scale.
-
You're part of a mission-driven team – in a fast-paced scale-up environment, we live collaboration, because we can only move things forward together.
-
You work to the highest standards – we combine the professionalism of leading industry with the innovative power of a top-tier, research-driven technology team.
-
You grow with us – at cylib, you will do what is likely to be the most impactful work of your career and develop personally as we scale together.
-
Depending on your qualifications and experience, your annual salary (incl. bonus) can be up to €80,000 to €105,000 gross.
cylib is a German battery recycling company that emerged from research at RWTH Aachen University in 2022. With an integrated network of sites, we bring together research and development at our headquarters in Aachen, dismantling and mechanical processing in Wernberg-Köblitz, and hydrometallurgical processing in Dormagen (in ramp-up). Our goal: building a resilient European value chain through the recovery of high-quality materials for sustainable batteries.
With our innovative OLiC technology (Optimized Lithium and Graphite Recovery), we recover over 90% of the contained raw materials – with a CO2 footprint that is 80% lower than conventional processes. Towards the realization of a true circular economy in the European market.
