When people use our technology to "bridge the gap" between the physical and digital worlds, they don't just capture reality - they create a new one. In this new reality, they are smarter, more productive, more streamlined, and more creative - because they have the digital foundation to build the world they want to live in.
That's what NavVis offers in all our products and services: the tools to not just map the world as it is, but to pave the way to a better future. To forge something new. Physical or digital, there is only one reality. And it's the reality NavVis empowers people to build better.
At NavVis, we build the world's most advanced mobile mapping systems professional-grade hardware that enterprise customers across the globe rely on to capture and digitize physical spaces. Every NavVis VLX and NavVis MLX that ships to a customer is built, calibrated, and quality-checked by our Assembly team. They are the last hands on every device before it reaches the customer, and the quality of what we ship is a direct reflection of how this team works.
We are looking for an ambitious Team Lead to take documented processes and a motivated team of 12 and raise them to external best-practice standard. You will bring outside knowledge into this team, drive ambitious operational goals, and have a genuine mandate to make production at NavVis exceptional. From reducing cost of production through process excellence, to scaling output through strategic outsourcing, to designing our brand-new production environment as part of a planned relocation in 2027 — this role has the scope and autonomy that is hard to find in a company of our size.
Own daily production planning and task allocation across the assembly team, meeting throughput targets set in collaboration with your Director and Sales
Develop and grow your team through regular 1:1s, structured career conversations, and a culture of high standards and genuine care for people
Drive cost-of-production reduction through best-in-class processes, tooling, and modern manufacturing methodologies
Lead make-vs-buy decisions and outsourcing execution in close collaboration with SCM, including supplier qualification, incoming quality control, and managing subassembly outsourcing to scale production capacity without scaling headcount
Lead the shop-floor redesign as part of our 2027 relocation, rethinking production flow from the ground up as a greenfield layout opportunity
Implement and sustain 5S and visual management as a living operational culture, and translate improvements from the Production Support team into durable shop-floor practice
Eliminate recurring shop-floor friction in material flow, handoffs, and inventory planning, in collaboration with SCM
Drive knowledge documentation so critical process knowledge is captured, shared, and resilient to individual dependency
5+ years leading a production or assembly team in a hardware manufacturing environment
Experience working with contract manufacturers or EMS providers, including supplier qualification and incoming quality control
Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement in a live production context (not only theoretical familiarity)
Strong people leadership track record: developing team members, addressing underperformance directly, and earning team trust
Comfort working within digital production workflows and the ability to learn new tools quickly and improve them thoughtfully
Organized, structured, and calm under pressure — you create stability on the shop floor while driving change
Fluency in English and German
Nice to have:
Experience with Jira or similar workflow tools in a production context
Background in precision or electro-mechanical assembly
Experience planning or executing a facility relocation
