Description
As part of the centralised JPC Procurement Department, the German-Speaking Procurement Officer will manage procurement activities for all German operations. The role supports the wider
procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating materials and services for construction projects, as well as indirect and overhead spend.
This position requires strong communication skills in both German and English, as you will collaborate closely with suppliers in Germany and the central procurement team in Ireland. Occasional travel to Dublin is expected for team meetings, onboarding, and alignment sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process purchase orders for construction materials and services based on
approved requisitions using the Business Central ERP system.
- Communicate with German suppliers to confirm orders, negotiate delivery schedules, and
resolve minor issues.
- Assist in preparing RFQs and organising tender enquiry documents for German projects.
- Monitor delivery timelines and coordinate with German site teams to ensure timely material
receipt.
- Maintain procurement documentation, including contracts, supplier files, and invoices, in
line with company policies and German compliance requirements.
- Support cost tracking and verify supplier invoices for accuracy.
- Assist Accounts Payable with non-compliant or disputed invoices.
- Prepare procurement status reports and maintain up-to-date trackers for German
procurement activity.
- Act as the primary procurement contact for Germany, ensuring alignment with central
procurement strategy and standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree or vocational qualification in Construction Management, Supply Chain, Business, or
a related field.
- 1+ year experience (or internship) in procurement, construction, or a related industry.
- Basic understanding of procurement processes, construction materials, and supplier
management.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with procurement or ERP systems (Business Central
advantageous).
- Fluent German (native or near-native) and strong English communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
