To support our rapidly growing business in Dresden, we are seeking an experienced and motivated EHS Manager / EHS Engineer to join our project team.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific EHS programs and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with German occupational safety regulations, environmental regulations, and client EHS requirements.
- Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Construction & Installation Safety
- Monitor daily construction, mechanical, electrical, piping, and chemical system installation activities.
- Review Method Statements (MS), Risk Assessments (RA), and Permit-to-Work documentation.
- Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Chemical & Process Safety
- Support safe installation and commissioning of chemical supply systems, specialty gas systems, and utility systems.
- Review chemical handling procedures, SDS documentation, and emergency response plans.
- Coordinate spill prevention and hazardous material management activities.
Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Track safety performance indicators and prepare EHS reports for management and clients.
Training & Communication
- Deliver EHS orientation programs for employees and contractors.
- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.
- Liaise with clients, authorities, and project stakeholders regarding EHS matters.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor degree or training in:
- Environmental Engineering
- Occupational Health & Safety
- Chemical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Related Technical Discipline or Management
Knowledge of:
- German Occupational Safety Regulations (ArbSchG)
- Baustellenverordnung (BaustellV)
- DGUV Regulations
- Hazardous Substance Management (GefStoffV)
- Environmental Compliance Requirements
Experience conducting:
- Risk Assessments
- Safety Audits
- Incident Investigations
- Contractor Safety Management
Preferred
- Factory or Laboratory Construction experience.
- Chemical Distribution System (CDS) or Specialty Gas System experience.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit, SiGeKo, or equivalent acknowledgment.
- First Aid and Fire Safety qualifications.
- Knowledge of high tech project standards.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in: factory projects, chemical plants/labs, high-tech manufacturing facilities
Language Requirements
- English: Business Proficiency (Required)
- German: Intermediate to Fluent (Preferred)
- Mandarin Chinese: Advantageous
