Live-in Nanny – Newborn (Zurich, Switzerland) -EU Pass
Position Overview
A warm and involved family based in central Zurich is seeking an experienced, nurturing and collaborative live-in nanny to care for their one-month-old baby. This is a long-term position for a professional who genuinely enjoys early childhood development and wishes to work in close partnership with the parents, particularly the mother, who is the baby's primary caregiver.
The family follows a Montessori-inspired, child-led approach and is looking for a nanny who is curious, open-minded, and passionate about supporting children's development through purposeful play while respecting the family's parenting philosophy.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and loving care for one newborn baby.
- Support the baby's daily routine, including feeding support, naps, hygiene and developmental activities.
- Speak Arabic (preferably Egyptian dialect) with the baby at all times to encourage language development.
- Engage the child through age-appropriate, purposeful and stimulating activities inspired by Montessori principles.
- Wash and organise the baby's clothing and maintain a clean, organised nursery.
- Monitor developmental milestones and communicate observations proactively with the parents.
- Work collaboratively with the mother, remaining receptive to guidance and adapting to the family's routines and preferences.
- Occasionally assist with light household tidying related to the family (e.g. clearing dishes from the living room, tidying cushions) on days when the housekeeper is not present. This is appreciated but not a primary responsibility.
- Accompany the family on occasional international travel.

Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years' experience caring for newborns and toddlers in private households.
- Genuine passion for child development and early years education.
- Familiarity with Montessori principles or a strong interest in learning and applying them.
- Warm, proactive, patient and emotionally intelligent.
- Collaborative team player who enjoys working alongside parents rather than independently taking over.
- Excellent communicator who openly shares observations and raises concerns when appropriate.
- Flexible and adaptable as the family's needs evolve.
- Fluent Arabic (Egyptian dialect strongly preferred; other Arabic dialects will also be considered).
- An EU passport is required for occasional international travel.
Accommodation
This is a live-in position. The nanny will have a private guest bedroom.
Working Schedule
- standard full-time live-in schedule.
- First 3–4 months: Flexibility is required,to assist the mother with the newborn baby (with appropriate rest periods in accordance with Swiss employment regulations).
