The Role:
We are looking for a Material Compliance Engineer to ensure our products meet national and international material and environmental regulations throughout their lifecycle. Working closely with engineering, procurement, quality and regulatory teams, you will play a key role in maintaining product compliance, supporting sustainability initiatives and ensuring our business remains aligned with evolving legislative requirements.
You will be responsible for:

Ensuring products comply with applicable material and environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.

Assessing, implementing and maintaining compliance with regulations including REACH, RoHS, PPWR, WEEE, the Battery Regulation and other relevant environmental legislation.

Monitoring changes to legislation, assessing their impact on products and business processes, and driving implementation where required.

Obtaining, reviewing and managing supplier material declarations, declarations of conformity and other compliance documentation.

Conducting material and product compliance assessments throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Maintaining compliance databases and preparing regulatory documentation, reports and supporting records.

Supporting customer enquiries, audits and requests from regulatory authorities relating to material and environmental compliance.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate new compliance requirements into business processes and drive continuous improvement.

Planning and delivering internal training sessions to raise awareness of regulatory requirements across the organisation.
About You:
You are an organised and analytical compliance professional with experience interpreting environmental regulations and supporting product compliance within a manufacturing or industrial environment. You enjoy working collaboratively to solve complex regulatory challenges while ensuring products meet the highest compliance standards.
You will also have:

A degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience in Material Compliance, Product Compliance or Regulatory Affairs within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of environmental and product regulations, particularly REACH, RoHS, PPWR, WEEE and the Battery Regulation.

Experience working with material data, technical documentation and supplier declarations.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to managing complex information.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.

Good written and spoken English, with confidence interpreting international standards, legislation and supplier documentation.

A proactive approach, strong sense of ownership and a willingness to keep up to date with evolving regulatory requirements.
