Your role
We are looking for a Quality Manager responsible for the overall quality performance of a manufacturing plant, ensuring full compliance with internal standards, ISO requirements, and customer expectations.
This role covers the entire production process, from raw material and melting phases to final inspection and product release, driving continuous improvement and ensuring product reliability for high-end ophthalmic applications.
The position acts as the main quality reference within the plant and towards Central Quality, customers, and external auditors, while leading a team of quality professionals and fostering a strong quality culture across functions.
Main responsabilities:
- Ensure application of quality standards, KPIs, and audit processes within the plant
- Monitor and improve product and process quality performance (scrap, yield, process capability)
- Manage non-conformities, deviations, and corrective/preventive actions
- Guarantee product conformity across all production phases (input, process, output)
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and optimize performance
- Oversee Quality Management System (ISO 9001), audits, and compliance activities
- Act as main interface with Central Quality, customers, and external auditors
- Coordinate cross-functional activities with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and other teams
- Lead and develop a team of about 6 quality professionals
Main requirements:
- Degree in Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality roles
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and audit processes (ISO 9001)
- Solid experience in problem solving and root cause analysis
- Strong data analysis skills and KPI management
- Ability to lead teams and drive cross-functional initiatives
- Hands-on approach and strong presence on the shopfloor
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent English (German is a plus)
