Our client is a family-owned manufacturer, a "hidden champion" in Germany. In Korea, the company operates a production plant, manufacturing and selling products under its own Korea brand (dual-brand strategy) to price-sensitive regions such as South America and Southeast Asia. To optimize the current Purchasing of materials (plastic films, adhesives, molds) and production equipment, and to explore possible savings by pooling the purchasing volume of factories in China and Korea, and possibly also the factories in Germany and USA together, we are looking for an experienced Purchaser who can speak Korean at native level.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the procurement of material and technical components and equipment, ensuring cost-efficiency, adherence to schedules, and quality standards
2. Continuous optimization of procurement processes by leveraging existing supply sources and developing new ones
3. Conducting supplier visits and audits to ensure compliance with our quality standards
4. Assisting in the development and implementation of strategic procurement concepts
5. Close collaboration with HQ in Germany, and with other departments in Seoul like Sales, Warehousing, and Quality Management
6. Maintaining item and supplier data and archiving technical drawings
7. Independently managing special procurement projects, including first-article inspections and the preparation of associated inspection reports
Requirements:
1. Completed commercial or technical vocational training, or University Study in Engineering
2. Professional experience in international technical purchasing
3. Strong technical aptitude and an interest in technical products
4. Excellent written and spoken English skills; German language skill will be a big plus
5. Ideally, basic knowledge of SAP, particularly the MM module
