Following the award of a major new semiconductor project in Dresden, Germany, we are seeking an experienced Site-Based Electrical Engineer to join our growing European operations team.This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-performing project team delivering one of Europe's most advanced manufacturing facilities.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Project Management Team, the Site-Based Electrical Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and managing all technical aspects of the electrical scope of works throughout the construction phase.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Management Team, design consultants, subcontractors, and the client to ensure the electrical installation is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, programme requirements, and quality standards. The role will involve supporting site operations, resolving technical queries, coordinating with other disciplines, monitoring progress, and ensuring all electrical works are completed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and supervise the installation of electrical systems in accordance with project specifications and drawings.
Review construction drawings, technical documentation, and project specifications to ensure accuracy and constructability.
Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider project team to resolve technical queries.
Support the Project Manager in planning and delivering project milestones.
Monitor site progress and ensure works are completed in line with the project programme.
Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical works.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including RFIs, method statements, inspection test plans, and commissioning documentation.
Attend site coordination, client, and progress meetings.
Assist with procurement by reviewing material requirements and technical submittals.
Monitor labour productivity and resource allocation to support programme delivery.
Ensure all installations comply with relevant electrical standards, specifications, and statutory regulations.
Support quality inspections and ensure all works meet company and client quality requirements.
Assist with testing, commissioning, and system handover activities.
Ensure health, safety, and environmental procedures are followed at all times.
Maintain accurate records of site activities, progress, and technical issues.
Identify project risks and work proactively with the management team to implement solutions.
Support the preparation of as-built documentation and project close-out information.
Requirements:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
. Minimum 5+ years' experience in Electrical Engineering with significant exposure to Instrumentation & Control systems.
. Experience working on large-scale industrial, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, life sciences, data centre or energy projects.
. Knowledge of PLC, DCS and SCADA systems
Experience delivering large-scale electrical projects.
Strong understanding of electrical installations and construction methodologies.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
