TÜV Rheinland is seeking a motivated Factory Inspector to support utility-scale Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects throughout United States.
The successful candidate will perform on-site inspections, field testing, inspection reporting, and quality verification to ensure projects meet applicable standards, project specifications, and customer requirements.
The position requires extensive travel throughout the United States.

Perform on-site inspections for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects during construction, commissioning, and operation.

Conduct visual inspections and identify installation defects, workmanship issues, safety concerns, and quality risks.

Perform field testing activities including:

Electroluminescence (EL) testing
-
IV Curve testing
-
Infrared thermography
-
Insulation resistance testing
-
Visual inspection
-
Commissioning activities and witness project acceptance testing when required.

Review inspection plans and project documentation before field activities.

Record inspection findings using photographs, measurements, and field notes.

Prepare clear and accurate inspection reports.

Coordinate daily field activities with project managers, customers and site personnel

Follow all company and site Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements.

Properly maintain inspection and testing equipment.
Vocational Degree in the field of activity or equivalent work experience
-
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electrical Technology, or related technical field, or equivalent field experience.

3+ years of experience in Solar PV, BESS, electrical construction, commissioning, inspection, quality control, or O&M.

Basic knowledge of PV systems, BESS, and electrical equipment.

Experience with field inspection and testing equipment is preferred.

Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation is an advantage.

Strong communication and report-writing skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Valid driver's license.

The candidate can work remotely, but will need to travel up to 70–80% of the time.

Ability to work outdoors under various weather conditions while following all safety requirements.

Experience with utility-scale Solar PV or BESS projects.

Experience with EL testing, IV Curve tracing, infrared inspection, or drone inspection.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

NABCEP certification is a plus.

Familiarity with NEC, IEC, UL, or NFPA standards.
