You’ll be joining the Power Operations team at JSM Group, where we specialise in delivering high-quality power network services to major clients. Our team is passionate about safety, operational excellence, and providing innovative solutions. As part of this collaborative team, you’ll play a vital role in the electrical engineering design and delivery of projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and driving project success.
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical design, engineering, and delivery of HV and EHV substation projects up to 132kV, in line with client scope and specifications. This includes producing detailed single-line diagrams and design documentation, selecting appropriate equipment and components, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and safety regulations. The role also involves coordination with civil, structural, and building services disciplines, and provides technical support across the full project lifecycle from tender through to commissioning.
Liaise with procurement to source electrical components, switchgear, and materials, and obtain subcontractor pricing.
Prepare single-line diagrams, calculations, and technical designs from first principles for planning, budgeting, and estimating purposes. Keep technical documentation up to date with current standards, components, and market pricing.
Liaise with Project and Delivery Managers to define scope, programme, resource requirements, and technical approach, including site surveys where required.
Support tender submissions, including technical evaluation, negotiation, and review of subcontractor offers and enquiries.
