Industrial Country Sales General Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a high-impact Industrial Sales Leader and General Manager to drive strategic growth with Distribution networks, Installers, OEMs and Large gas companies and develop our industrial gas control equipment business in Germany. This is a succession planning position for future Germany MD role of GCE. Individual will be responsible for driving profitable growth, build sales, customer service, growth bridge, sales operations and margin expansion processes and be a part of critical M&A and growth strategy council directly responsible to manage sales and customer service teams as well as responsible for building regional strategy, budgeting, monthly forecasting and talent management. This role will focus on industrial manufacturing, cutting, welding gas equipment, cylinder valves, high purity (HP) and ultra-high purity (UHP) gas systems. It is designed as a leadership pipeline role evolving into regional director and or MD Germany.
Scope of Responsibility

Own revenue, profitability and growth targets for industrial gas equipment portfolio - Manage and grow $30M+ business portfolio

Develop strategic distributor, OEM, Installer accounts and key relationships

Lead pricing, negotiations and contracts

Drive new product introduction and growth programs

Maintain strong funnel discipline and forecasting, margin and people management

Industry events, forums and council participation
Key Responsibilities
Product Line & P&L Leadership

Own global product line P&L responsibility for the Specialty Gas Equipment product line.

Define and execute the global product line strategy
-
Lead portfolio management, including segmentation, value proposition definition, pricing strategy, and lifecycle management.

Drive sustained revenue growth, margin expansion, and market share gains.
Technology & R&D Roadmap Ownership

Define and own the global technology and R&D roadmap

Align customer needs, market trends, and engineering execution.

Guide innovation in areas such as:

High-purity pressure regulation and control

Gas distribution and safety systems

Materials compatibility and contamination control

Reliability and performance in critical environments

Maintain strong competitive intelligence on relevant competitors.

Conduct ongoing benchmarking of technology, performance, cost, and value propositions.

Represent the company with customers, partners, and in industry forums or standards bodies as appropriate.

Product line reviews with factory to improve cost, delivery and quality

Technical and application support for sales and customers and quotes preparations

Monitoring and management of variant request approvals and business cases

Ensure compliance with industry, customer, and regulatory standards.
Market, Customer & Growth Leadership

Act as a sr. market-facing leader, engaging directly with strategic customers and partners.

Translate Voice of Customer (VOC) into differentiated product and roadmap priorities.

Partner with Sales, Commercial, and Key Accounts to define go-to-market strategies, sales enablement, and value-based selling approaches.

Identify and execute organic growth initiatives, including new applications, adjacencies, and geographic expansion.
Strategy, Budgeting & Business Planning

Actively participate in business strategy development for Gas Control Equipment.

Lead product line annual & long-range plans, and capital investment proposals
-
Own product-related annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.

Provide data-driven insights to executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
Mergers, Acquisitions & Due Diligence

Actively support M&A strategy related to specialty gas technologies and adjacent markets.

Lead technical, product, and market due diligence for acquisition targets and partnerships.

Assess portfolio synergies, roadmap alignment, and integration considerations.

Support post-acquisition integration and portfolio rationalization activities as needed.
Cross-Functional & Operational Leadership
-
Lead a global team of approximately 20 people, including direct and matrixed reports.

Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and SIOP to ensure demand-supply alignment, NPI execution, and operational scalability.

Partner with Quality and Reg teams to ensure adherence to various standards.

Provide product, market, and competitive expertise across the organization.
Competitive & Industry Leadership
Qualifications & Experience

5–10 years experience in sales managerial and business development
-
Experience in industrial gas equipment or related industry
-
Proven track record managing team, driving profitable growth
-
Experience in multinational matrix organizations
-
Strong knowledge of central gas, cylinder valves, HP/UHP gas systems and applications
-
Strong understanding of end users, installers, distributors
-
Prior hands-on experience and strong technical knowledge of manifolds and valves is a definite plus
