As a Senior Media Strategist, you will hold primary responsibility for shaping, architecting, and driving the long-term media strategy for our automotive brands across European markets. This is a high-level strategic and consultative role designed to advance digital maturity, establish corporate-level governance, and lead the structural transition toward the internalization (in-housing) of media capabilities.
As a key strategic partner to the client's senior leadership, you will understand client needs and guide the media managers at both the European and German levels to define investment principles, harmonize regional frameworks, and pioneer best-in-class media practices. Your visionary leadership will directly determine overall campaign effectiveness, high-stakes budget optimization, and the building of macro-level media capabilities within the organization.
Primary Job Duties:
Strategic Leadership & Business Ownership
- Lead the architectural development and long-term evolution of comprehensive media strategy frameworks across both European-wide and German-level markets, addressing high-complexity business challenges.
- Oversee and execute the strategic localization of media plans, defining high-level investment structures, purchasing efficiencies, and corporate-level KPIs that optimize large-scale budgets for both regional and German scopes.
- Drive the strategic roadmap for digital maturity across all assigned markets, introducing pioneering channel strategies, data governance frameworks, and innovative tech-stack integrations tailored for European and German business goals.
- Support the transition toward in-housing media capabilities, advising on structures, tools, and best practices.
- Guide local markets on investment strategy and planning principles.
- Support measurement frameworks that improve campaign effectiveness and consistency across all European and German markets.
Client & Market Leadership
- Act as a key advisor to stakeholders on full-funnel strategies, spanning both traditional and online media.
- Partner with internal teams, external agencies, and platform partners to ensure effective collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Mentor and support local teams, raising capabilities and ensuring adherence to media best practices.
What You'll Bring:
Minimum 8 years’ experience in media strategy, gained agency-side or client-side.
Experience advancing digital maturity and embedding new ways of working within multinational organizations.
Track record of improving campaign effectiveness and consistency across multiple markets.
Strong knowledge of full-funnel strategy, covering both digital and traditional channels.
Proven ability to partner with local market teams, agencies, and global/regional stakeholders.
Collaborative working style, strong communicator, and able to influence at senior stakeholder level.
