The Regional Logistics Specialist is responsible for product acquisition / movement and inventory for USO programs and operations region-wide.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)
- Support, implement and manage cross-functional projects and business solutions related to the transport, physical distribution, storage, and inventory management of supplies, equipment and materials that support USO programs & operations.*
- Collaborate with internal and external resources to manage USO EMEA’s supply chain network. Track and report on inventory, financial transactions and procurement compliance. Coordinate preparation, review and presentation of status updates and reports.*
- Coordinate with theater logistics units for military transport of USO equipment, property, supplies, and personnel.*
- Support facilities management and maintenance of the Regional Warehouse and Regional vehicle fleet.*
- Manage and maintain external partnerships including but not limited to designated U.S. Military and/or civilian partners to support successful procurement, transport and delivery of services, facilities and materials necessary for regional programs & operations.*
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field.
- 5+ years progressively responsible work experience in a logistics/supply chain management role. Relevant experience in a charity, not-for-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
- Knowledge and awareness of logistics, inventory, and supply chain management best practices and compliance requirements in a military/global environment.
- Ability to safely and professionally operate and maintain a powered industrial truck (forklift). Familiarity with U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety & Health Administration regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO and military leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism. Ability to manage and influence external vendor relationships.
- Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. General knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
- Must show initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.
- Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to perform basic business/accounting functions including project management and budget reconciliation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driver’s license.

- This position is located in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Preference will be given to local candidates within commuting distance to the location.

- This USO SOFA status position, in Germany, is available to U.S. Citizens only that are not normal residents of Germany or NATO family members who have immigration visa and SSN and meet specific conditions. This position does not provide logistical support.
