PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
IRIS2 is the new European Union secure satellite constellation. This project is the European Union's answer to the pressing challenges of tomorrow to provide secure connectivity services and enhanced communication capacities to the EU and its Member States. In addition, as well as to governmental users, private companies and European citizens while benefiting from ensuring high-speed internet broadband to cope with connectivity dead zones.
SES – together with other consortium partners and core members - was selected by the European Commission to build and to operate the IRIS2 multi-orbit satellite constellation.
The IRIS2 team enters next project phases, we seek and there is a strong need of support for all the activities around service provisioning and products that the system can offer in the future.
ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The PMO, Programme Schedule Support role supports the integrated planning and schedule control activities at programme level.
The role ensures that segment and project schedules are consistently structured, integrated, analysed, and reported, enabling reliable forecasting, early warning, and decision‑ready schedule information for programme management and governance.
This role does not own delivery schedules, but supports their integration, quality, and coherence.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
Support the maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) at programme level
Consolidate and integrate schedules from segments and projects into a single coherent programme view
Ensure schedule data quality, including logic, dependencies, milestones, and baselines
Support schedule baseline establishment, change impact analysis, and re‑baselining activities
Assist in identifying critical paths, milestone risks, and cross‑segment schedule dependencies
Produce schedule performance indicators (e.g. milestone status, slippages, trends)
Support schedule‑related reporting for programme reviews and governance bodies
Interface with Project Managers and Segment Delivery Managers on schedule topics
Support the application of programme‑defined schedule management rules and practices
COMPETENCIES
Strong understanding of programme and project schedule management
Experience with integrated planning and multi‑project environments
Ability to analyse dependencies, critical paths, and milestone impacts
Structured, analytical mindset with attention to detail
Ability to communicate schedule insights clearly to non‑planning stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
University degree in either Telecom, IT or Engineering
Minimum 5 years proven professional experience in project management
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Any other European Language is considered an asset
Experience in using MS Tools including MS Project
Strong experience in project management and programme environments
PMP® Certification (nonessential)
OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS
The candidate must be eligible for a “SECRET” security clearance, in accordance with the national regulations as well as EU/ESA/NATO equivalents
Willing to work 60% onsite from office
Travel as required for project realization purposes
