Software Engineer (f/m/d) to support the design and development of experimental payload hardware and innovative technology to be flown in space to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard a number of orbital launchers.

Development/production of embedded software for a 3d bioprinter to be flown by ScienceTaxi to the ISS and orbital rockets.

Development of test and support software.

Performing software testing/verification of the functionality at system level.

Development of software for a number of other experimental payloads.

Support of management and engineering team with future proposals.
-
Degree in the one of the following: Software Engineering, Computer and Electronic Systems Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or similar.

At least 2+ years of experience.

Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming (Python, C++) for hardware applications.
-
Familiarity with embedded systems design, low-level hardware interactions is advantageous.

Skilled in testing and validating complex software systems.

Experience in designing software architecture.
-
Ability to design graphical user interfaces would be appreciated.

Be a team player with good communication skills, supportive, well organized and have an independent way of working.

Basic Electronics knowledge is essential.

Knowledge about communication protocols.

Experience in programming microcontrollers.

Knowledge of G-code and 3d printing protocols would be appreciated.

Fluently speak and write in English and ideally good in German.
Nice to have:

Experience with camera sensors (MIPI / SPI / USB interface).

Experience with CAN and CANopen.

Experience with RTOS.

Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing.
