We are looking for an intern in the area of AI / Automation (m/f/d) – in Cologne or Vienna – starting as soon as possible.
Please note: This position is open exclusively to students who are required to complete a mandatory internship as part of their studies.
From day one, you will be involved in further developing our vision of revolutionizing camping vacations. You will help build and optimize the use of AI and automation across Campstar – in our product, internal tools, and daily operations. You will work in a young, dynamic, and international travel start-up team and help drive our growth. You will take ownership of topics and projects assigned to you.
What you will do:
- Support the development and integration of AI-powered features into our platform (smart search, content generation, personalized recommendations, AI-assisted booking flows) ,
- Design and build internal AI tools and automations that help our marketing, operations, customer support and finance teams work more efficiently,
- Prototype with the latest LLMs and frameworks (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models, RAG, vector databases, agentic workflows),
- Participate in projects, support the optimization of internal processes, and take responsibility for sub-projects,
- Support business partners and internal teams with AI-related questions and identify high-impact automation use cases,
- Help the Product and Tech departments evaluate AI tools, model performance, and cost efficiency,
- Support the Campstar management team with daily tasks.
What you offer:
- You are a student in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a comparable program,
- You are required to complete a mandatory internship as part of your studies (Pflichtpraktikum),
- You are interested in building new things and enthusiastic about AI and data,
- You have basic knowledge of Python and have already experimented with at least one LLM API (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, or similar),
- You are familiar with prompt engineering, RAG, automation tools (e.g. n8n, Make, Zapier), or agentic workflows through personal projects, coursework, or hackathons,
- You are interested in e-commerce and online business,
- You are well-organized and work in a structured way,
- You have good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and modern collaboration tools,
- You communicate efficiently and enjoy working with people,
- You enjoy working independently as well as in a team,
- You speak English (German is nice to have).
