Our Product Design team is made up of 15 talented people across four areas: Staff Design, Copywriting, Banking, and Invoicing & Accounting. In this role, you'll join the Banking domain and work closely with a cross-functional squad (Product, Engineering, Data, Ops, Compliance).
Your direct manager will be Arnaud (Head of Design - Banking), and you'll partner day-to-day with your Product and Engineering counterparts within the squad.
The Banking Experience squad owns the core of what our customers interact with every day: the mobile and web application surfaces that make running a business feel simple and powerful. This is the heart of Shine's product, the place where freelancers and business owners manage their money, track their activity, and stay in control of their finances.
The squad owns:
Account overview and day-to-day navigation
Transaction history, search, and categorization
Payments (transfers, scheduled payments, SEPA, instant)
Card management (virtual, physical, settings, limits, freeze)
Cross-market feature consistency
You'll own end-to-end design for the core banking experience across mobile and web, designing surfaces that millions of entrepreneurs rely on daily. Your mission is to make complex financial interactions feel effortless, raising the bar on usability, consistency, and delight while shipping at pace.
Your responsibilities will include:
Own banking experience design from discovery delivery measurable impact
Design and iterate on high-frequency surfaces that balance simplicity with functional depth
Diagnose and improve daily-use flows: account management, payments, card features, navigation
Lead discovery with customers, synthesize usage data and research insights into decisions
Contribute scalable components and interaction patterns to the design system
Ensure cross-platform consistency between mobile and web
Partner with PM/EM on prioritization, trade-offs, and roadmap shaping, co-own engagement and retention metrics
Participate in design rituals and raise quality while shipping pragmatically
Job located in Berlin with possibility of two remote working days per week.
6+ years experience designing digital products; experience in consumer-grade mobile apps or fintech is a strong plus
Strong track record designing high-frequency, high-quality mobile and web experiences
Proven end-to-end ownership with shipped outcomes and impact validation
Excellent craft and interaction design sensibility — you care deeply about details and feel
Hands-on user research & synthesis, strong collaboration with PM/Engineering
