The Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) is one of the largest and most diverse art universities in Europe, where artistic teaching and practice intersect with academic discourse to shape its distinctive profile. With a history spanning more than 300 years, it is deeply rooted in the city of Berlin and, with more than 700 events each year, serves as a significant cultural driving force. UdK Berlin unites a broad spectrum of study programmes in Fine Arts, Design, Music, Performing Arts, and the academic disciplines related to these fields. Its profile is complemented by the Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin and the Jazz Institute Berlin. For its approximately 4,500 students – about one third of whom come from abroad – the university offers excellent opportunities for study and research, fostering ongoing exchange between artistic practice and scholarly reflection.
